Couldn't agree more with this. Millennials collectively had the best childhoods ever. We were so spoiled to the point where so many of us were not at all prepared for any challenges of adulthood. The "participation trophy" generation is used to being given things, and they haven't grown out of that mentality whatsoever, which is why they want everyone else to fix the problems they have faced throughout adulthood.
I'm not going to deny that Millennials have had it entirely easy-- once our generation was old enough to enter the job market, the 2008 recession hit, for starters. But, like I've said, Millennials do not care to solve their problems, and they want everyone else to fix it for them.
Millennials deserve the hate we're getting now, and sadly I predict we will deserve the hate we'll be getting in the future. I've seen many people say that while the Boomers killed the economy, it was Millennials who killed the culture. Boomers suck, but at least the music and the movies they made were superior. lol.
Also, it was Boomers and Millennials who were the driving forces behind the fucking covid shutdowns/lockdowns. Boomers and Millennials robbed so many kids of their youth, and I will be the first to apologize to Gen Z and Gen Alpha on behalf of people my age. It still makes me sick what kids went through during that time. There's something evil about the generation who had "The Best Childhoods Ever" forcing the worst childhoods ever onto younger generations over the coof.
I agree with pretty much everything you wrote.
There is a narrative that is very prevalent with centrist/contrarian circlejerks: “things were not actually better when you were younger, it was just better because you were young.”
Suffice to say, that is a retarded narrative for retarded menchildren who still won't grow out of their 4chan arrested development phase.
It should be noted this isn't about whether one's individual life was better back in the day. That is another topic entirely (even if yes, the general well-being of people's lives were well up there compared to now).
“Things” in a general sense, however, were much better when I was younger.
For starters,
we did not have child trannies when I was a boy.
There were far fewer Fifth Worlders running buckwild.
You did not have mass internet censorship. You didn’t have cellphone addiction. People were not nearly as fat. The food was better.
Buildings were nicer. Films were not all capeshit CGI trash. And you could go on forever. These are objective measures. Things were simply better, generally. It’s a factual matter.
I remember when it was illegal to be faggot. I remember the movement to normalize faggotry, which was a big boomer cause, because they said “it’s none of the government’s business what people do in their own bedrooms.” That is the way boomers think, and by extension, the way neoliberals think, because that ideology is fabricated by and for boomers: everything is some kind of mantra, really a
slogan. Bumper car slogan, if you will. “A woman has a right to choose,” “I just think they should come here legally,” “we fight there over there so we don’t have to fight them over here.” Everything is an advertisement. Their sociopolitical, cultural, and religious beliefs are the result of mass-marketing campaigns, as we've clearly seen with the NO KINGS circlejerking this last weekend.
When I was born, it was still illegal to suck cock in a majority of countries, and now at my age, we are looking at a situation where it will soon be illegal to be a normal person in all of these "democracy values" failed shitholes in the Northern Hemisphere. There are in fact many ways in which heterosexual male sexuality has already been outlawed, as a result of shitlib and homosexual marketing campaigns which the boomers could not resist.
It’s not just millennials that had it better when they were young. The boomers had it better than their millennial children. At the time, the Great Depression parents of the boomers were talking about how things were better when they were young, before all of the sexual degeneracy and drugs.
But I think that’s as far back as it goes. Before that, in the early 20th century, people expected that their children would have a better life than they did.
Things are not necessarily destined to keep getting worse and worse until the entire universe is just a sadistic trannyfied child mutilation festival. Things could get better, just like they got worse. There is no reason to lose hope.
Democracy is a failed project and everything is faggotized and retarded, but nothing lasts forever.
Just hang in there, kiwis.
We’re going to make it through this.
Chin up.
