Possible, but I don't see how they would've gotten away with it for this long. IRS would've been flagged to the bank/PayPal (or other vendor) accounts they'd be using to pay these subs. Plus Twitch's payment system would see multiple users using the same money source Unless they're using straight gift cards from a cash sale at Dollar General? Those prepaid one use gift cards don't have any identifiable information to it, and if your loading accounts with hidden aliases, you're going to have a really hard time tracing it back. Only thing that would trace it back is the IP address that made those accounts?
Twitch ML exists but given how low profile Mald is these days i doubt that is the case, more likely it is him/his mods/alts doing the boosting. If you ask Mald, he would say they did it voluntarily and without reimbursement.
