If anyone here hasn’t read the full thread, I am one of the few people who actually ordered Scooby doo eats, both the burgers and the hot dogs. I had them delivered to a friend in Canada who was our taste tester.
For what it’s worth, he did enjoy them, and claimed they had a “Smokey flavor.”

But the big thing to note was that our order number, several months after the site was opened, was only in the 200’s, meaning by that point only around 200 people had bought Scooby doo eats products.

Obviously this was because Nathen used it to advertise himself when any sane person would realize that no one wants to see a gay Arab man when they order Scooby doo branded hot dogs and lasagna

The cheesy, saucy, beefy mistranslation is still hilarious to me

According to a Twitter user, they mistranslated the French box for the Scooby Lasagna.
Can anyone verify this?

Not a French speaker myself but a quick check on a French to English dictionary shows that these were indeed mistranslated. Nathen probably did them himself by just looking them up in an English to French dictionary without checking to see what the exact connotations of the words are. Or he paid the lowest priced translation gig on Fiverr to do the same thing.

I’ll have to find it in the thread, but he did upload a video of himself moaning in bed like he’s having sex, only to remove the blanket and show he’s eating the Garfield lasagna, which was the same lasagna for Scooby Doo.

That’s really the crux of the issue with everything he does. To him, starting a business isn’t a way to earn a living, but rather a way to build one’s personal brand.

Licensing a permanent building with an IP is extremely expensive. Companies like Disney sue over gravestones with their characters on it, I can’t fathom what they’d charge to build your Spiderman dream house.
Then you’ve got city ordinances which would surely prevent tacky themed buildings.

He might be able to get stuff like this built in the desert where no one lives, but then you’ll have a dystopian ghost town with themed buildings

It sounds like Nathen is pitching an immerse themed experience similar to what Disney's failed Star Wars hotel attempted? A concept which I believe is actually quite common in Dubai hotels, if I'm not mistaken. Like, fancy dinner theatre/escape room sorta events, but with hired actors. Even basic businesses like coffee shops in Dubai often have live actors/singers you can interact with (like the time he ordered the coffee worker to sing a song).

Nathen's idea could work, but like you said, it sounds like a bunch of legal snafus waiting to happen if he used actual well known IPs. He'd be better off making it generic "Space Wars" themed. Whether Dubai folks want to actually live in a 24/7 Space War larp, remains to be seen.
