What I find most remarkable about this article is it buries the lede so it can criticize Trump and talk about identity politics: these drug boat strikes may be part of an ongoing escalation strategy with Venezula, and it brings up that Trump basically confirmed CIA operations in Venezuela. We don't need a nuclear submarine to support counter-narcotics operations in the Caribbean, but we apparently have one there. Rather than highlight pretty serious military build-up, the article talks about it like this is bumbling around (rather than intentional) and talks about the questionable legality of it (as if the US, or anyone for that matter, has conducted wars legally this entire century).

It's part of that whole desecration thing they like so much. They only try to act cute with it because they think it makes them look like the playful heroes in their Saturday morning cartoons. Trump and Vance are holding a mirror up to them, and because they can't swat it away they despise it.

Literally nothing. American protests are the left's equivilant of "thoughts and prayers." It gives people with good intentions something they can do to feel better about themselves but ultimately it changes nothing.

In greece protests means there's a decent chance of protestors using molotovs. I'm not advocating that, but people seem to take that a lot more seriously than people standing in a street peacefully until the police decide to tear gas them.

Nothing because you Americans seemingly don't understand the basics of a protest. Just look up how Serbian students have been protesting and pushing the country to the brink, and still no change. The students also have experienced massive reprisals (and yet they continue to fight). It's an insane uphill battle, what happened in Nepal was the exception, not the rule. You know I gotta ask a question, what’s the point of fandoms anymore? Like I’ve been on the internet since I was a kid, and as such I’ve been in and around plenty of fandoms but I’ve always noticed that said fandoms are just horrible horrible places to be for anyone. Like the majority of controversies in fandom can basically be described as “children and mentally stunted adults arguing over the most minute bullshit and threading to kill each over said minute stuff.” Or pedophilia. Like genuinely were is the fun to be had in being apart of fandoms anymore. It’s all just endless drama and bullshit, in other words Highschool.
