A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I have been staying away from the news as it is too depressing. I have been looking up Julia Child, though, a wonderful woman, who really respected the culinary arts. I will say, if you can try an American wild turkey. They're divine. I do prefer Duck for Christmas, but I really want to try making a Hot Turkey Ballotine. It sounds really fun to make.

Disclaimer: Burger here so our dynamic might be different.

I understand the rage but this kind of purity spiraling is what screwed the left and it will screw us as well if we fall into it. That isolates a lot of people who are starting to come around. "enabler" could include anybody who was ever left wing at one point, if people think our victory means their death they won't get won't get on board.

Even morally I think it's wrong, most (not all) of the enablers probably had good intentions (caring for the weak is a fundamental western value) they were just naive as to the reality of the world and how many of these people fake being weak while hiding venom.

Manchester fell about 10 years ago, it's not quite Birmingham boombox street preachers quite yet but it's rapidly moving towards that.

I've straight up barred myself from ever going to another gig in Manchester again as every night out involves staying in the hotel or wetherspoons until the gig starts and then immediately bombing towards the hotel with my phone zipped in my pocket. Every good medium sized venue (the O2 or the Apollo) is about a 10 minute walk from shitadilly gardens so you get to walk past tatty nail shops, ethnic slop shops and 'massage parlours' as you walk down the street of shame.

I used to enjoy going to Manchester on nights out with friends, now nobody wants to touch that shithole since once of us had a lit firework lobbed out of a car directly at us, which could have seriously maimed us. It did not surprise me one bit that it was Manchester where the Ariana Grande bombing happened as there didn't even seem to be an Islamic community in Manchester in Manchester until VERY recently and then it just scaled up significantly out of nowhere, at least every venue in Birmingham knows to not fuck around and they'll employ the biggest looking bastards to stand at the doors but Manchester still had a high trust element when the bombing happened.

Speaking of Birmingham, I haven't been in this thread for a few days but the ban on Israeli fans coming to Birmingham is the biggest eyeopener I've seen in a very long time. I genuinely never thought I'd see the day when self described leftists hate Jews more than fucking Goebbels. Granted it's absolutely because of the optics of a Jew being killed in Birmingham and the realisation that Mossad would absolutely go feral and dig up as much dirt as possible on every single Brummy councilor, politician and police officer. There's no way that anyone in power in Birmingham would shed a tear if forty Tel Aviv fans got beaten to death with hammers otherwise.

Enabler isn't just someone who was left wing. Even if it was, left wing does not mean pro nigger. Left wing means pro worker's rights. The main left wing party is called labour because it is a party to represent labourers. These are people who knowingly and purposefully import these people. In american terms this is not deporting all the white liberal women who have never interacted with any brown outside of the metrosexual token black guy, this is more the cartels sending all the immigrants in. These are treasoners and they know full well they are.

If your suggestion to an immigration crisis is just 'lets fucking give them all houses' then you are worse than the gangs on the french beach sending these people over here. No one would ever suggest the idea that moving people out of a hotel (minimalist apartment room) and into a full blown house unless they are taking the piss. You tell me, what's cheaper: running a single block of flats or literally thousands of houses?

Absolutely right about Manchester and Birmingham. I never felt safe in Manchester and got harassed by multiple homeless druggies asking for change. Never have I ever said "I've only got card" with pride (I had shitloads of change).

Also, yeah. I touched on that point at the end of my post. I've gone from civnat to ethno-nationalism in the space of maybe six months. Maybe a few of you remember my posts when I started in here, you were all absolutely correct. Every single brownoid needs to leave.

Building my migrantcrime.org website (which I really need to update but have been sorting work stuff out) was a total and absolute eye-opener. Having to sift through and thoroughly read nearly 300 articles of rapes, kidnaps and murders of children and pensioners is the sort of thing that changes your viewpoint on things drastically and suddenly. I lost a bit of weight from not being able to stomach dinner for the week or two I went through the majority of those.

The Israeli ban has opened lots of eyes. Called for and supported not just by the West Midlands police service but by the actual MPs (Muslim) and Aston Villa itself. It reveals deep, systematic Islamisation of this country and acceptance of it in the police, and especially the Islamisation of Birmingham. I don't give a shit about the kikes not feeling safe on our streets (they also should not be here and are now reaping what they have sown re: mass migration), but it highlights exactly who is in charge in parts of the country and what they are doing.
 
The Manchester chat has brought back a memory of being young and poor abd travelling by coach. The main stop with seating and facilities was being renovated and the coach stop was somewhere random. I was stuck there late at night with an hour to kill for my next coach.

Went for a walk looking for a shop or an open pub. No pubs and got chatting to a jolly beggar outside a late night shop and gave him a couple of quid.

Heading back to the temporary coach station I spot this guy is trailing me by about 10-20 yards.

When I get there he comes up, apologies for following me. There was someone else that had been following me (which when I mentioned I had kinda noticed.) He said the guy had buggered off when he was catching up to. He offered me a cigerette and wished me a good night and walked away.

I had an alcoholic amiable Mancunian guardian angel that night.

I do have a soft spot for Manchester but I’m only there on business these days so if I’m ever ar Piccadilly I’ve got a tram to the train station and am travelling somewhere else. Couple of good pubs by it.

Major internet outage report

Some of the world's biggest apps -including Snapchat, Duolingo and Roblox - are not operating this morning due to a major internet outage.

Issues have also been reported with Amazon and Vodafone.

Issues started this morning, and problems appear to be related to an issue at Amazon Web Services.

According to Downdetector, there are more than 5,000 reports of the Snapchat outage alone.

It's thought that the issue is related to Amazon Web Services.

On its service status page, the company said it was seeing "increased error rates" and delays with "multiple AWS services".


UK bank apps stop working

There are now reports that customers of several banks are also facing issues. Lloyds, as well as its subsidiaries Halifax and Bank of Scotland, are all facing thousands of reports of outages, according to Downdetector.

People have reported being unable to log in to their online and mobile banking apps, and there are also reports on social media that some people have had card payments declined.


Amazon Web Services identifies potential root cause

AWS said it has "identified a potential root cause" for the problems causing this morning's massive internet outage.

"Based on our investigation, the issue appears to be related to DNS resolution of the DynamoDB API endpoint in US-EAST-1," said the company in an update.

DNS resolution means the process that allows companies to connect to its servers.

AWS said it is working on "multiple parallel paths to accelerate recovery".
