I think a discussion much earlier in this thread (like a week ago) will be the answer. The Trump party is a broad umbrella with pretty conflicting ideologies that have connective tissue just enough to get rid of the old guard. I think within the coming elections, the Trump party will likely split. Arguably Gabbard would be the best to build up for a nu-Dem party that can take the Bernie refugees and make the rival party actually sane and competent.
The Dem party currently is a sinking ship of two rival gangs held together through sheer ignorance on one side. They both hate each other as Boomers don’t want the crack-pot socialism the Madamis will bring, and the AOCs have been held down to long for them not to stab the Schumers while they are weak. We don't need a nuclear submarine to support counter-narcotics operations in the Caribbean, but we apparently have one there. Rather than highlight pretty serious military build-up, the article talks about it like this is bumbling around (rather than intentional) and talks about the questionable legality of it (as if the US, or anyone for that matter, has conducted wars legally this entire century).

We're sending escalation signals to the Venezuelans in like a dozen different ways and we're giving them casus belli by blowing up their citizens and property. Venezuela could very reasonably declare war on us or do some surprise attack, and the administration wants them to do it, because then congressional approval is not required for the following war.
Clearly the solution is to ethnically cleanse the muslims to achieve peace in the middle east, time for Israel to pump estrogen in their water supplies, they already have a ton of practice doing that.
