How long ago did that start? Like was it already that way even before Current Year, in the '00s?
Pretty much always been, but truly speaking the 90s-00s were definitely when news was falling into Democrat’s palms. A lot of news networks were bought out by higher entities, like CNN in being bought by Warner in 96. The more Dems captured the 6 leading big players (Disney, Warner Bros, Paramount, Universal, Sony and Fox) the easier it was to take over news.

Programming like The Daily Show likely also played a part. What little Republican spin the media had in the 00s had Stewart constantly breathing down their neck convincing America they are all fake. In a weird sense Late Night became how people got the news to the point that Stewart and co were elevated to the same status of actual reporters. It made it super easy for Obama to squeeze his way in when they rolled out the red carpet for him.

Bush is another key factor. Following above, the news became more hated for supporting him and his War on Terror. The increased pressure made flipping Dem a no-brainer from a business standpoint, the culture was pushing to head that direction.

Finally, political extremism just got upped for increased views. For a good while, Fox was the most popular for being a hard right channel, so the others went hard counter to up viewership and engagement.

Journalism schools have been leftist for years. It's no surprise they've become bastions of leftist propaganda along with academia. Things have gotten even more noticeably bad in the last couple of decades, though
I suppose the reason my dad thought I'd make a good journalist or a good spook is because my qualities as a person are what Hollywood fictitiously shows as favorable personality traits for those lines of work. I'd be too unwilling to lie and would make my superiors look retarded by calling them on their bullshit.

I heard there was some court ruling during the Obama years that said news propaganda on US citizens was legal.
Not a ruling, but a law the Obama administration allowed to lapse that prohibited the US government from producing propaganda targeting Americans and airing it in America. Nobody even asked him to let it lapse -- the expectation at the time was propaganda was only really "useful" overseas anyway -- but he said "lol fuck it let's just lie to the cattle here at home too."

Kinda bizarre to think it used to actually be illegal for the US government to wage a propaganda war against its own citizens on their home soil. Even more bizarre to think a sitting US president -- the first black one, in fact -- decided to change that. Crazier still realizing they've been actively and openly engaging in it ever since.

There's a reason NPR and CPB/PBS shit fucking bricks when they were de-funded this year. Since Obama's removal of that restriction on propaganda, they'd been getting absurd amounts of income to produce and air as much bullshit as they could dream up. That was a massive cash cow. That one cut really fucking deep. Even some of the USAID grifters thought they got off easy compared to seeing the NPR/CPB/PBS cash cow get brained overnight.

Heard the claim that Trump wants to pull a Putin and become a permanent head of state with no more presidents. I am skeptical of that.
that would be fucking awesome, especially due to TDS yurotard kiwis in here, not forgetting the usual predditor that does a drive-by but dear feeder has closed registrations due to some opfor faggot making a ton of accounts to later reuse, no more 2025 joindates seething about drumpf for a while (:_(

people are noticing that the paid protests today ended pretty fast.
not difficult, channel 5 did a video where one dude was literally being a tard with the trump protests waaay back giving a clear sign he was there for the money and also the probability of getting pussy.

They should be concerned about the day when nobody plays along with their word games because things will fall apart very quickly for them.
They are still in denial and apoplectic about the fact that normies have already told them "no". The transition (lol) is underway and they are big fucking mad about it.

guess that living next to a pack of feral niggers, fent zombies and cartel spics while also paying a fuckton of cash for simple groceries makes one change their mind really quick regarding politiks and people will put their faith on the one that promises to send these demons back to hell, who woulda thunk it?

That's why it's so interesting to read people like Chomsky or Orwell speaking about propaganda. It seems counterintuitive, but the people most susceptible to propaganda aren't necessarily the lower class, uneducated, but rather the highly educated. Members of the intelligentsia like academics and journalists. (That's why in 1984, everyone in society is forced to have their propaganda screens on all the time, but the members at the top of the Party hierarchy can turn off their propaganda screens any time they want to. They've absorbed and internalized the propaganda thoroughly.)

Journalists have had such a reputation for being courageous, iconoclastic rebels, but in actuality, they are part of the class that dutifully repeats propaganda, reinforces and goes along with prevailing lies. Its more likely that disaffected working people (like people on this site) are more likely to question the grand narratives.
