That's why it's so interesting to read people like Chomsky or Orwell speaking about propaganda. It seems counterintuitive, but the people most susceptible to propaganda aren't necessarily the lower class, uneducated, but rather the highly educated. Members of the intelligentsia like academics and journalists. Is it possible to make paid protests illegal or restricted in one form or another? Like at bare minimum having to be very public and open about who is sponsoring the protest otherwise it's treated like a racket or something.
