This really tries to check as many boxes as possible to please these people.

Jeez, it's like whatever edge the world of D&D had was sandblasted off and turned into generic globohomo slop. Imagine if they did this with Warhammer 40K?

Sadly, it's to be expected of modern-day WotC, since they've gone all-in on the rainbow shit in both D&D and Magic: The Gathering. It's even more egregious with MTG, because people still whale the shit out of their products, and WotC is one of the few divisions of Hasbro that makes a profit, so Hasbro is literally putting all of their eggs into the MTG easter basket because of how badly their other divisions, i.e. board games, are doing.

To my shock, CaptProlactin has not made a comic on the No Kings protest. Just a lazy cat picture on her Instagram Stories.
IMG_8945.jpeg
Instead she opted to make a self deprecating comic with some of her personal politics sprinkled in about one of her favorite things: magical girls. Because cynical takes on magical girls totally haven’t been done to death!

Was this supposed to be funny to anyone who isn’t a terminally online hyper liberal feminist like the artist? Maybe I still have a bit of youthful whimsy in my soul because I can’t imagine drawing, writing, and posting this online in my late thirties. At least you’re honest about how miserable you are?
Reminds me of a webcomic with the premise of former magical girls who drifted apart and are pushing 40. It’s also hot garbage with a whiny protagonist who brought almost all of her problems upon herself.

A good chunk of her parody comics are just her injecting her own cynical worldview into lighthearted and optimistic children's media. It's criticism as biting as claiming all Batman does is beat up poor people.

There's an episode of BoJack Horseman where Diane struggles to write a story about her traumatic childhood, only to gradually come with an idea for a children's book series that actually makes her happy to write. Instead of wallowing in self-loathing, she chooses to create something designed to help girls like her find a sense of comfort from a cruel world.
I feel like the Captain could very well do something like this instead of whining about how much the world sucks through the veil of a Sailor Moon parody.

Wow, this must be a quality comic if I have to pay to read it!

Here, it’s free on ComicFury. https://magicalwomen.thecomicseries.com/comics/1/#content-start
And as much as I agree with the rest of your post, I know it’s something she’d never take to heart. Technically she’s trying to do that with her parody comics/graphic novel, but of course it’s injected with the spite that comes with “We NEED to have rep for queers, women who are fat and not cishet or neurotypical!” Mix that in with the feminism brainrot and you have the embodiment of “writer subverts something, it’s contempt for the genre”. Her anti capitalist cat game is supposed to be for a good cause with donations, but again it’s laden with political bullshit.
Personally I think a lot of her misery is part of self flagellation for being mildly republican as a teenager. Once again, she’s 37. And you can’t even tell her to get therapy because she might lie to her therapist again because colonization or something.
This comic explains why this 37 year old woman is like this. Pretty wordsy, but it’s always interesting to look into a madman’s mind.
Oh my god. So I was looking back at CaptProlactin’s account for some shit about her graphic novel, and decided to actually read the comic that mentioned her parents being divorced. It explains a lot.

Madoka Magica came out in 2011, it’s the oldest of old hats.
Not to "erm, ackshually" you guys, but rather to further support your argument: Princess Tutu came out in 2002 and is considered to be the proto-Magical Girl deconstruction anime. And, if you wanna go even further back, Revolutionary Girl Utena was one of the inspirations behind Princess Tutu and that anime came out in 1997.

People only ever think about Puella Magi Madoka Magica as THE magical girl deconstruction anime because it's the one that became the most popular, but it's far from being the only one.

If we want to go even further we can talk about Minky Momo dark ending (debut of truck-kun)

This is more soulless than corporate memphis.
Except for the old guy all of them are attractive, that's the difference. SJW art posits that there's only one body type that's attractive so they wallow in the most grotesque as a kind of protest, reality being that there are many bodies that are attractive.
However I have some sympathy for the people who only consider one bodytype as acceptable because that's what is pushed in a lot media and by people with media rotted brains, you see it here non KF too, and now with the backswing from body positivity I feel like we're going to go back to the 00s style of insane bodyshaming.

Since it’s well into spooky season, I think it’s a good time to bring back this classic.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this could be ground zero for so much of the whitewashing discourse we’ve seen over the past decade or so. And it was over pale body paint on an Overwatch skin iirc. Just think about that whenever Twitter users start strangling each other over lighting/color theory on black characters.

This page reminds me of:

Glasses is being presented as unreasonable, but what did it take for the (obvious) real-life version of her to reach that point? Maybe she does have anxiety? How much has glasses been pushing herself to get to the point where she has to say no?

See above. Just because you draw people as unattractive doesn't mean they're in the wrong.

If this is supposed to be relatable, I'm insulted.

There's a webtoon like this, too: https://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/new-magical-me/list?title_no=7059
It starts with the MC faking her death, allowing her family and closest friends to think she died in battle, to go live as a man.

MAiD for COVID!

At least one person did request for and get MAID after suffering side effects from the vaccine.

I love that she can acknowledge and recognize people using therapy words to justify hurting people, but can't tell when she does the same type of shit.

AND, at that, if you just change the friend's expression it 100% becomes an anxious acquaintance standing up for herself after being manipulated by her shitty friend that only calls on her for life-or-death situations. The dialogue is barely shitty!
