Have you ever SEEN the Undertale fandom? I wouldn't want those freaks to know what I look like either. If he was more recognizable he would be one wrong turn away from getting Misery'd by some psycho troon who would break his kneecaps for not putting their OC in and making them rape Sans's left eye socket. But in like a cool and progressive and very inclusive way.

He did it wayyy before the AI hysteria and if it WAS about that he'd have scrubbed the internet and any pieve of media he shows up in from the face of the earth.
 
I feel that Noelle's attraction to Susie is somehow related to the disappearance of Dess, and it's akin to filling a void left by her disappearance. Susie is most likely a parallel to Dess, in that while both have some violent and problematic behavior they have soft spots for those they care about, Susie with Kris and Dess with Noelle. Very recently I've imagined the Knight having a particular emnity for Susie because she's essentially replaced (or is in the process of replacing) the role of protective figure in Noelle's life. Makes me think of this quote from Undertale by Goner Kid:
"Have you ever thought about a world where everything is exactly the same..."
"Except you don't exist?"
"Everything functions perfectly without you..."
"Ha ha... The thought terrifies me."

That is a rather interesting theory I've seen floating around that it could turn out Dess wasn't the best person, just like Chara.
Which thinking harder kind of starts to make sense considering in Undertale, Asriel was the crybaby sibling, but now Noelle is in the crybaby sibling role. There's even some parallels between Asriel and Chara in her and Kris' relationship considering we know Kris clearly enjoyed messing with her when they were younger.

Tbh I'd laugh my ass off if it turned out Dess is literally just one of those "IT'S NOT A PHASE MOM!" edgelords. :story: Considering all of the hints to her being somewhat of a rebellious punk I might not be too far off on that one.

She's not like other girls, guys.

I feel the same way; it would explain why Noelle is so into Susie just based off of her vibes and how she treats other people. Noelle still thinks the cyber world was just a dream, so from her perspective she and susie have only really had one chance to talk one-on-one. Seeing Noelle's obsession with Susie as a way of having another Dess is probably the only way Noelle can be of any interest when she's in Susie mode. I'm much more interested in how Susie thinks of Noelle, however. She seems to like her on the level of at least "she seems like a nice person, I bet she's cool" and has a vested interest in helping Noelle stand up for herself. I really hope chapter 5 elaborates more on how Susie sees the other townspeople now that she feels like she could get to know some of them and not just be an evil monster to most of her peers.
 
I don't think it'll happen, but I want Dess to turn out to be an evil bitch who's behind most of the conflict happening for selfish reasons. It would be interesting if Noelle and Kris are partially fucked up because of Dess fucking with them rather than them just having lost their perfect older sister (figure), and it would be cool if Susie and Dess have a contrasting parallel where beyond the superficial similarities the two have, Susie is a kind girl who only pretends to be mean because she had a shitty life growing where others treated her poorly, while Dess had a nice, abundant life and loving family but threw it away for edgelord reasons. Also it would be funny if Dess is the Knight and Kris is working for her for reasons that are essentially "I can fix her".

I do think on some level Dess is very much a flawed character. The contrasting parallel is very likely, and it would be very much poetic if the Knight (assuming it's Dess) is actually extremely weak in the Light World (maybe dragging Undyne took all its energy) and Susie easily beats it up. That would make Dess out to be pathetic, completely abnadoning reality for fantasy to the point where she isn't ready for a wake-up call. The Dark Worlds help Susie grow as a person while for Dess, she gets lost in it and drunk on power.

It would make sense if Twin Peaks was one of his inspirations. Laura Palmer was a deeply flawed person and while I don't think it will be in the same way, it would make sense for Dess to be deeply flawed as well.

What I'm thinking (hoping) is it's the "maybe they weren't the greatest person but I will shoot out a giant rainbow colored laser to get them to stay by my side for a moment longer" concept, but more thoroughly developed and fleshed out than it was in Undertale. It'd be a lot more impactful since unlike Undertale where that character is introduced in the finale of the 2nd playthrough route, Dess is someone who's had an effect on damn near everyone we know, and so seeing her being an evil nigger for no reason hurts in many ways more than just physical. It's like watching a junkie family member throw out the Thanksgiving dinner you brought them on the street because you didn't bring them any meth.
