I keep hearing that people will leave NYC if this or that, they rarely ever do over stuff like crime, death, famine or whatever goes on there. They have pretty buildings and it's ethnic.

It was even an episode of House. A deaf teenager got cochlear implants and ripped them out. Not because he got scared as a result of hearing or anything, but because he didn't want to give up all the special treatment he got as a result of being deaf
