Right, I think what he means by that is that he's able to think his way out of his feelings. But that's easy to do when you don't have very many feelings and they're all built around "good" or "bad."
He doesn't think too much about how impulsive he is with the very basic feelings he does have, and he's also able to completely split that version of himself so he can't even see that it's something he does. Very sad. Very sad.
I need to go back and read the Lauren Southern logs because one of two things is happening here. Either he's lying to Lauren and says shit like this to other girls, too, at least the ones he's serious about and then just forgets it. Or he really is feeling a normal human feeling of love and affection for another person that he isn't usually able to feel for any other person. Or it's both and he basically divorces himself from reality and forgets that he felt that way about other people like Melina once he lost interest.
While looking for Destiny's DMs with Lauren, I found a summary of their last conversation in New York, which really makes me want to read those chapters. According to the summary Lauren describes his behavior as cold, which was a subtle punishment. I'm now thinking he may no longer think they're star-crossed lovers and he *has* finally split on Lauren and put her in the bad category. My guess is that he felt in his heart of hearts that when Melina was out of the picture, they would be free to be together. And when that didn't happen, he did realize that she wasn't as interested in him as he had convinced himself. And he must have started raging out about how much he had debased himself and shown his belly to all those Republicans all year for the sake of helping her career or having more in common with her. (Narcissists are very good at mimicking people and taking on new personas as a means of roping them in, btw.) So after Destiny festered on it, he probably began blaming Lauren for how embarrassed he is over his talks with people like Ben Shapiro. He might have even started thinking about how she gave him false hope and caused his divorce. He might have even thought about how she brought Blav into this thread to a-log him.
So he projects on her. And he starts talking about how "you can spend all this time investigating Hunter Biden's laptop," which she replied to, saying that she didn't actually care about the laptop. And he starts going on about, "Well, maybe not you, but your side does!" So basically he's no longer viewing her as an individual, he's viewing her as an analog to "her side." And he begins using "logical politics" to justify his split. He's devalued her by taking away her individuality. And he doesn't have to deal with the fact that his little heart is broken or that he sacrificed his ego for her (you have to remember, he said Republicans should cower in fear from him.) Instead he can blame her for politics she doesn't really even have.
Anyway, I can do this all day. But I will definitely be re-reading those logs and that chapter.
I was hoping she was debating Lav, but there's no way she would. Lav really hits on her insecurities. There really isn't anything funnier than that confrontation between them where Lav got Erudite to accuse her of lying about her sexual assault, because it really does expose Erudite for what she is. Someone who wants to appear nicer and kinder than she is, who wants people to think she won't address Chaeiry publicly for Chaeiry's sake, rather than because Chaeiry would body her because Chaeiry is smarter and funnier than her.
Anyway, if you haven't seen it, Lav openly flirts with Nick in front of her, calling him "Boo" and "Nicky" and then mentions that he told her that Erudite is insecure about her femininity compared to Lav. It's very good stuff. Very good stuff. She even mentioned that DGG is turning on her because she's so boring. And then Lav started making fun of her for running defense of Destiny because Erudite doing her job as number one Cum Renfield by saying, "Destiny is actually like a really good person. Like such a good person that he won't even talk about what a good person he is."
She won't talk to Lav again. Plus I think Lav is off twitter right now, so she might not even respond.

Blav mentioned often how Destiny would get obsessed with women, and that’s what Melina’s major problem was. He would get obsessed with a new woman and that was difficult for Melina to deal with. She was e-famous in her own right and their relationship validated a lot of narcissistic delusions he had about himself. In fact in the Rose logs, Rose suggested they just date in private since Lauren was stepping out of public life. Destiny says he wouldn’t do that because it would “ruin the point of what makes the relationship special” because he wanted to be a public couple with her and create content together. It’s never about the person but what the person can provide for someone with NPD. Melina provided a lot of usefulness for him because when other women would see he had a hot wife, it made him a valid target of affection/sex/friendship (social proof), but he could neglect her otherwise.
The obsession will always stop once the person challenges the view the NPD person has of themself, and in all relationships and long-term friendships there is a healthy amount of challenging each other. This is why NPD and BPD people do not ever have long lasting healthy relationships. The other thing with NPD is that while they require praise and admiration, they also lose respect for the people who do that. So they can end up trapped in a loop: needing praise and admiration to feel significant, but feeling contempt and then losing interest once they get it. The admiration soothes their ego, but it feels weak and beneath them.
So people like Lauren, who are just out of reach, are perfect for them. But once they fully reciprocate then the cycle/loop starts all over again.

Just because he's guilty of something doesn't mean the DA / Prosecutors will actually pursue it. They have to factor in a bunch of shit and ultimately might decide it's not worth it. See the footnote says based on defendants production of logs, they aren't the "full" logs from a discord subpoena. That is based on Stevens chatgpt ocr version. Rose will have to provide hers to the court with her deposition. That's when it gets spicy and if Rose's deposition is on court record that he shared porn, skype called and recorded a minor - creating csam, distributing it to dox her and to whoever else he sent Rose's content to.
