George Washington. Abraham Lincoln. Shit, even the absolute shitstains on history that are FDR or Lyndon Jonhnson.
I had not noticed that an American leader's name should end in a consonant until you pointed this out.
This is a nice jab at Obama, but there were a few presidents, including some considered decent or good who had last names ending in a vowel.
The first was James Monroe, the 4th POTUS, who is still remembered and celebrated for telling Europeans to get the fuck out of our hemisphere. The continent has been extremely felted ever since. A true American, Monroe passed away on the 4th of July as did Presidents Jefferson and Adams before him.
After that it took until the 13th POTUS, Millard Fillmore before another vowel-ended president would be seated in the oval office, but only because Fillmore was VP to President Taylor who ate so many cherries it gave him the super shits and killed him.
Some may debate whether Fillmore should even count having not been elected for the position, but none can deny that the 14th POTUS Franklin Pierce didn't earn the position. Unfortunately for team vowel, Pierce is regarded as one of the worst Presidents in the history of the nation by modern scholars.
It would take almost 50 years after that for the next President without a last name capped off by a consonant to take office when William McKinley became the first US President with a non-e vowel at the end of his name. Historians still debate if this really counts as everyone knows from the childhood sayings "a,e, i, o, u, and sometimes y," which may explain McKinley's assassination at the hands of a sometimes vowel hater in 1901.
The 1920s would signal a return to normalcy as Calvin Coolidge became the 30th POTUS after President Harding had a heart attack. Silent Cal removed any controversy surrounding whether a man with a vowel at the end of his name could actually be elected President or if he needed someone else to die first by succeeding in his 1924 reelection bid.
John F. Kennedy would be elected America's 35th President in 1960 before being killed by the CIA only a few years later. To this day people are still asking why it happened, but the 'y' should be obvious.
Another nearly 50 year gap would ensue before Barrack Obama became the countries most recent President to have a vowel at the end of his name when he became the 44th POTUS in 2008. With a last name ending in 'a', Barrack Obama is also the first person to ever be elected President who was a nigga.
That will be all today class, and yes this will be on the next exam.
