While it wasn't SAAS type stuff, I also floated that Linus should offer his companies services for outsiders. As little work as they seem to do for a YouTube channel, he did build some sort of test lab for an assortment of things; if he gets his employees trained properly and publish how they abide by standardized testing criteria, they could offer their lab services for companies looking to, well, test stuff. The same could be said for their camera operators and video editors; he's managed to put together a stable of competent video people. Cut back on your YouTube tech, and offer professional video services. People need different types of work done, and somehow, despite how we all feel about Linus and his retardation, he has managed to make something; and he's missing out on ways to utilize and monetize what he has managed to create.

This was the whole idea of Labs. Companies would send their stuff in for LTT to test, and receive back a professional test report and the right to put a Linus sticker on their box. Companies just weren’t interested in that because the reality is that if you have the resources to produce, say, a computer monitor, you also have the resources to just test it in-house, because that’s half the design process anyway. The Linus sticker just isn’t worth anything.

That was the idea, and it just needs to be readjusted; instead of the Linus sticker, get certified/validated/qualified/whatever to do ANSI or ISO or some other global standardized type shit. The amount of effort and money it'd take to get your sticker to mean something is monstrous; but to be certified to handle other sticker types isn't. That's what he needs to do.
 
I actually work in an accredited third party testing lab to ISO/AS/ASTM etc. standards (not in tech though) and there is no way Linus has the capability to get the accreditation for all of that given the incompetence of his team.

There's no way that Canadian retard is going to get ISO certified with Youtube cred. The most he can give is his faggot leaf cuck recommendation with no backing other than his dumb shill opinion.

Back in the day when i still watched LTT, i didn't watch for him. I watched for the other, at the time unique and excellent talents he had on board.
And i watched as his every idea to improve the channel was to hire hundreds of random people and spend ridiculous amounts of money on one unfinished project after another.
I watched as he gloated about banning his viewers for being, to him, so retarded they weren't worth listening to, all while destroying his company with every action he took.

All the momentum he (his team) had built up slowly died along with his undeserved good reputation, and the satisfaction i felt while watching it happen was incredible.
Seeing everyone finally understand how much of a fucking faggot this pretentious little syrup sucking nigger always was and shitting on him from on high, it was like christmas.
And it never stopped. Even now they hate him. The mask is broken and no amount of thermal epoxy will glue it back together. They're critical of him in ways they never dared to be before.

I don't watch LTT anymore, but i'm still subscribed. I love seeing him struggle in the trenches like a gutshot soldier desperately trying to crawl back over the enemy line.
Because i know he's not going to make it. I know he's going to fucking bleed out in the mud, and i'm waiting for it to happen.

It's not the YouTube cred, it's that he's a master of taking shortcuts and not doing shit properly. But even that aside, if he wants to use his lab for anything and make a profit from it, it won't be from putting the LTT/LMG sticker of approval on it, it'll be by using his lab and going legit. He dumped millions into getting that real estate and all that gear, and it's been bleeding him and his company ever since. If he wants it to be used properly, and not bleed out, there's only one way forward, and it's not the Linus Seal of Approval.

Some time after Floatplane was started, Luke mentioned on the WAN Show that he wanted to whitelabel it. But because Floatplane operated under LMG, it had to share money and resources. Floatplane was, and still is, understaffed and lacks a dedicated business team. This, and also Linus' r-slurred tantrums about wanting 4K UHD HDR uncompressed zero-latency video streaming, effectively meant that all of Floatplane's expansion momentum was gimped from the start.

I even remember Linus saying multiple times on the WAN Show, with a depressed-looking Luke sitting right across the table, that Floatplane is never going to be a priority and that he only cares about the main YouTube channel, LTT.

Had Floatplane been an independent startup without Linus' narcissism hampering any and all potential for growth, Luke would probably be a millionaire by now or at least he wouldn't be sharing a shoebox apartment with two roommates and a fiance.

I don't think Luke talks much about Floatplane's tech anymore, but from what I understand, it used to be pretty sophisticated? As @GosuGopher said, they had to build out their own CDN network. Not sure if it was necessary or just something Linus wanted to do. But they genuinely, at one point, had a good shot of making it something more than a site exclusively for LMG paypigs. To date, the only whitelabel client they've had is William Osman's Open Sauce...

I think back around 2018-ish, Linus pushed for LMG to offer videography and editing services for commercial productions. That venture didn't go anywhere.
 
I believe Floatplane had Gamers Nexus, back when they were in good terms with LTT. Also Level1Techs hit 500k subscribers, yay!! At the end of that video you see they list their Floatplane subscribers, so they are still on there, too. They might a very few thousand subscribers, but not hold me to that.

Linus loves innuendo. He hunted down the 'Techquickie' channel owner to acquire the channel because it had 'quickie' in it, and 'Fast as Possible' is intentionally abbreviated 'FAP'. I'm sure there's more examples from over the years but Float Goat almost being Throat Goat is 100% intentional

I didn't watch the video but if he has braces again that might be some desperate attempt to claw back relevance. He had horrible teeth as a kid and said that one of the things he was most grateful for was his parents managing to put together enough money to give him braces. He thought it was stupid at the time and didn't want his parents to waste money on it because he didn't care but his mom said that people treat people with bad teeth more poorly and over time he realized that was true. I'd be willing to bet a non-trivial amount of money that he saw a picture of himself where there was a weird shadow on his teeth or something and now his logic is "My teeth aren't as straight as they were when the channel started, that's why people are tuning out"

I remember that he used to sell videos to companies to teach their employees things. Example, teach NCIX how to do sales or things like that, mostly tech related (iirc)

I don't think it is a major source of revenue and idk if they still do it (maybe people who still watch Wan Show know more about whether they are diversifying beyond LTT store and video ads)

This is all Linus' fault. If he stopped hiring 999 people and investing in all this shit it might have been better

Labs? Probably millions of dollars wasted. Tech house, tech pool, tennis court, LAN center(LMAO). These investments haven't broken even, he's just losing money.
