What is so fucking bad about the button? Even in Ian's "Kill Ethan Game" it was all predicated on the fucking button. Why is that an obsession with these people? Half of it stems from them being angry that it deprives them of cahntent, talking points, and soundbytes. These people are chronically incapable of thinking for themselves. They need easily digestible audio clips of people they hate saying Bad Things so that they don't need to explain or defend their positions if anybody ever asks them WHY somebody is bad. "He said X!" is all most of them can manage. "He said X, and here's why I don't like that" is advanced curriculum. The people who can argue their case usually fucking hate people like Hasan, Ian and Anisa for making them look terrible by association.

The other half stems from purity testing. Simply by having the button, Ethan is admitting he does not pass the purity tests required to be a Hecking Good Person. If he was a Good Person, he wouldn't need the button. It is the same sort of "If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear from losing your privacy" slop trotted out by stupid, complacent gobshites.

According to Ian, it prevents Ethan from learning to stop himself saying “offensive” things on his own and it’s an easy way out of sorts? I don’t get his take, but he’s talking about the button fairly often, never forgetting to mention its price, so maybe he’s just jealous.
