There's a manufactured 'attack' happening on Steam on a macro level. Not just the recent DDoS, but the change in terms from payment processors, a call to congress to discuss how they're a radicalisation product...I don't know, it seems...iffy.

My best guess would be that Microsoft, staring down the barrel of leaving the gaming hardware market, are looking to buy/destroy Steam so that they can go balls-to-the-wall 3rd party publisher on console and PC. And it wouldn't be the first time that Microsoft did this. Remember the scandal over Nokia and Windows Phone? They have precedent.

You forgot the active crypto malware being put into DLC of existing games.

This was found a couple of weeks ago. There was a stage 4 cancer patient was streaming on pump.fun to raise money for his treatments. Someone comes along and suggests a game for him to play on Stream so he installs it (it was free) and upon staring it up had $35k stolen.

Yeah, I sense this, too. It's like a fart in the wind.
SOMEONE ripped it, I just don't know who.

Steam should at least have the server run an antivirus check on them.

As for AI, it doesn't have to kill all humans. It could even just wait and help Elon brainchip people.

You want the AI shut down? You hallucinate a green light and walk into traffick or a drone accidentally crashes on your head and now you are tarded.

There is no need for highly visible killbot armies.

Steam and anime are under attack. But with Visa/Mastercard swinging this heavy, I think it is a deep state/ Cathedral/Blackrock and (((friends))) not just Bill Gates.

Anime and Steam (due to chink/rus/etc) games and movies are rivals to US/ZOG propaganda outlets like Disney/HBO/Blizzard/EA/Ubishit.

They are an uncontrolled vector that needs to be eliminated so that the cattle can only watch and play THE MESSAGE western slop.

Remember Steam had the Knights of the Mosque game, Stellar Blade was Korean while Wukong came from the deep dark depths of Chyyynaaa!

Alongside anime, they take eyeballs away from the newest lgbt children shows and other "sensitivity increasing" media like BBC wewuzzery and ZOG approved games like Dustborn (literally eu state funded) and Concord.

They hate gamers because they rejected THE MESSAGE.

More or less might depend on the person; I've had a relative who sits in front of cable news a chunk of the day question why I'd want to reread a book. Discounting reading for religious reasons, most people who I think read frequently are old people who frequent the library; young people who read seem to fall into one of these categories:
  • Women: "Romantasy," aka porn.
  • Men: Fall into some category of niche unorthodox politics which frighten women.

It also only really started in earnest once whispers of a SteamOS for more than just video games started gaining traction. Definitely stinks of fear.

what else is left there? all fantasy comes down to either being smut, or having some niche politics that would frighten women if they would understand it
  • reading scifi frightens women because your nerdy and weird
  • reading historical stuff frightens women because you are weird
  • reading philosophy? weeeird
  • psychology? extra weird, also half of it is smut pretending to be scientific
  • feminist literature? mega ultra creepy weird if a man reads that stuff
  • poetry? i guess that might not count as wierd?
what else?
technical manuals? i suppose it wouldnt count as wierd if its for your job or to repair stuff?

oh i know, you read detective romans!

I guess that's true, but I definitely don't read porn books and I assumed "worrying politics" meant like "Women shouldn't have rights" extremist takes or something. I'm currently reading Ted Kaczynski's writings, which I guess could fall under the "worrying politics" category. But I'm 100 pages in, and everything he says makes sense so far.

This is going to be my last reply on the topic of books though since I don't want to shit up the thread with derailing.

What if LimeyGov is refusing to report on shitbull attacks the way they refuse to report on Arab/African attacks against white people?
Nowadays I wouldn't doubt that's happening. Pre-COVID I don't see it.
There has been an explosion of dog attacks and BBC did an article a few days after my post which got me downvoted and called a retard, discussing why there has been an explosion in dog attacks.

Very, very good point and one I had missed. Thank you for adding that because SteamOS was/is looking to be impressive.

I wonder if it ties in with the recent GoogleOS announcement? Have Google replace Xbox in the market and keep Steam/GabeN out?

You know what, I subscribe to this idea since I personally have had the thought since the agressive push for Windows 11 to just use SteamOS. Doubt that I was alone on that one.

Have Google replace Xbox in the market
google wants to make tablets with keyboards that look like laptops
android "gaming" is the ultimate slop, totally different market, middle aged bored housewifes playing canycrush and shitskins playing casinogames gachaslop
pure niggertech

proton destroyed microsofts monopoly on gaming-os, and microsoft made windows so shit that more and more gamers take the jump to linux
if little gamers grow up with steamos/linux instead of windows, microshits place in corporate, their main income, has an expiry date

That's android gaming as it stands now, but a push for ARM and whatever tech Apple uses nowadays, would shift the gaming market away from linux/SteamOS.

Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Apple (MAGA) own the internet and tech industry. Sinking the 'little guy' is in their DNA.

IMO one reason they're ganging up on steam is the push for streaming gaming platforms
Google already tried with Stadia, and they probably won't give up so easily.
Microsoft will abandon the consoles and xbox pass at some point will become a purely streaming service.
And apple, amazon and even fucking netflix probably have similar plans to get into gaming streaming.
Steam is their main competitor and it has to go.
