Realizing he can't do anything else to his mcmansion, Linus realizes they will buy a house and show what to do to tech it up in terms of wiring and upgrading. It will be a multi-year project because due to Vancouver housing, they have to keep the home for 2 years to avoid "flipping" taxes/regulations. And by buying the home for the company, it doesn't become some weird situation of selling it to an employee or subsidizing their own renovations and creating friction/animosity which, fucking irony alert in this realization, Linus.
A second house? Did he ever finish the pool/watercooling system for his server?
If he ever sells his mansion, I can't imagine the nightmare for the new owners with all that chinesium in the walls.

2 is basically what Roosterteeth did to Ray in achievement hunter. He had a successful twitch channel that RT forced him to hand over while he was with acheivement hunter. He quit not long after and became much more successful twitch streamer on his own.
Similar parallels here with LTT in the death throes and the last few years of rooster teeth.
I remember when Ray left AH, the crew kept making fun of him saying that they would never do that "streaming shit". 6 months or a year later, they were live streaming on Youtube.

What do they say in that one?

Going back to the Tech McMansion well after going to the scrapyard wars format again? Since the Labs failed they're all out of ideas.

They could just be a competent "tech tips"/ review channel but
1. They don't have the capability
2. Zoomers won't be as big parasocial consoom freaks for that.
My money would be on the house simply bought to house employees under the TFW requirements.

Write it off as a business expense, also garnish 30% of their wages for housing and get half of their pay subsidized by tax payers via LMIA.

Canada is insane and has tax payer funded slavery. https://news.un.org/en/story/2023/09/1140437

The house would have potential for content but when you realize that LMG is incapable of even attempting to put in a good effort in their projects, I doubt it will succeed. I feel like linus is the main pusher behind the idea that doing everything in a lazy hack job way is somehow comedic, it isn't, it's fucking annoying.
I don't know how an inspector was never called to his home after all the electrical jank he has on camera. Especially running an extension cord behind a wall.

Yeah every single project is like "I spent a billion dollars on this *insert thing 99.99% of people will never own/use/want*!!!!!!!"

Was actually interested if he shared anything non-obvious, here's a local copy for anyone else who wanted to click around

LTT Resample_Members Only Videos Are A Huge Problem On Youtube.mp4
The reality is all these creators got high on their own farts throughout COVID and thought the massive uptick in views and income would last forever, and so they tried to nickle-and-dime their viewers with member videos. But now the chickens have come home to roost; the world economy is in tatters and people don't have disposable income for shitty throwaway content.
Surprise surprise that people would rather buy groceries than see BTS videos of Tech Fiona (formerly Shrek) and other assorted creatures.

LTT had no issues charging $15 a month for these videos and it only became a problem when jewtube started shoving them into people's faces. If that had never happened then he would have kept the members videos up.

He's still charging $5 for this:

No trans colors? I'm out!!

As I went to look at his channel again, I found some of his videos to have potentially interesting concepts, specifically the ones where apple or android users switch to the other platform for 1 month.

Example:
If someone, like me, hasn't watched a video in a while, I think this is a great example of why it is failing.
  • The concept is interesting, so you click on it. The video is actually shit, so you skip around and end up closing it. Youtube registers that people don't like your videos, and stop suggesting them
  • The video is about 20 minutes of summary of the different android phones. WHY?? People are watching this sort of videos for fun, not to be advertised different phones. Who the fuck is watching this when trying to find a new flagship android phone to buy??
  • There is nothing fun in this whole video, it is just summary of different android phones and how they compare to iphones.
  • Linus is on the thumbnail but is only doing a cringe sketch, everything else is LTT employees. (The woman seems nice and has some screen presence. The main presenter is okay compared to other LTT people)
The part 2 is a bit better, but it too static. It is a video about a whole month, why are they simply sitting on a couch??

This is partially the result of maybe losing the start-up mindset of wanting to go the extra mile and having some personal investment in the company. I can imagine the employees filming themselves outside of work to show interesting things, if this video had been shot in the early days (like Luke when he and Linus did that Linux challenge). Okay, Linus doesn't pay that well and it is just a 9-5.

STILL, why are there no clips from their work life while at LMG? When choosing the phone, they talk about email app for work and other things they may need for work (btw, this is even worse for the episodes about using Apple laptop with Alex and Linus, where Alex is using it as a work laptop!).
Would it have been too much to ask them to film a few photos and videos in the office? Or if they felt comfortable showing some photo or video they took in their daily lives (the woman went to Paris fashion week, I'm sure there were at least a couple of interesting photos she could have shared!).

It makes me wonder if they never switched for a month.

What I don't need to wonder about is that the quality of their videos has become a lot worse.

Also, the audio levels for Linus and for the others were different and it added another line of separation between Linus and the others.

Don't know about Canada, but housing inspectors usually don't come into play unless you're building a new house, maybe if you're adding onto your house with a licensed contractor (depends on the city). Those are the common cases for city/government housing inspectors.

Private inspectors you only see when you're selling a house (and they're usually hired by the buyer or real estate agent). Never use the only recommended by your real estate agent. Find someone local who has YouTube videos and see how much of a hardass they are. Also get someone skinny to make sure they go into crawlspaces.

When he goes bankrupt and has to sell property, he'll get raked.

The reality is all these creators got high on their own farts throughout COVID
That's when I stopped watching: the video where he told people to get their vaccine because "Dr. Bill" (Gates) said so. Fucking tech dipshit giving medical advice to get the clot/cancer shot while his staff constantly virtue signals wearing mask. Fuck that noise.

That's because they don't know what you are doing, but if you do something like what they do publicly and someone reports it - surely it would trigger some sort of inspection. I can assume due to his home he is also probably in an HOA. and if I were his neighbors I know I would want that deathtrap looked at.
There are a lot of TV shows that got fines and inspectors called because of dumb shit they did on the show.

Linus didn't want to leave his pool so they brought the video to him. Just another pointless video that doesn't really go into the science but gives linus a reason to use his pool in a video.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=YnHnTnqArus
That's not Linus' pool. Firstly, they haven't excessively blurred the background to avoid getting his address doxed, even though that's already happened. And secondly, that house is definitely not his McMansion.

What they are hiring, full company? Also Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist? That sounds like real bullshit job.... Like how much talent do they need to acquire that they need full time person for that...
