Excuses like this are so transparent; why did he even bother trying to sound selfless when it's so obvious that he only cares about himself? If he simply said that he was scared for his own safety alone upfront I wouldn't care as much but I will always call him a bitchass faggot with no spine. The point is to create such an obvious and repulsive reputation for Twitch and Dan Clancy that the advertisers and/or big daddy Amazon actually take notice. I'd say there's at most a 50% chance of getting the killshot necessary for a viral effect. All it took was one viral moment in Congress to kick off the resignations of the presidents of Harvard and Penn—Twitch and Hasan are literally nothing in comparison. But because US politicians are so retarded, it's only a 50% shot that one of them actually pulls it off.

Not that it would be that hard. It's just that Congressmen are fucking retarded and can't take the easy win.

I don't know if he falls for it, or if he deliberately aims for that, because that shit is really easy to respond to without thinking.
Some guy going "haha lefties rekt lmao" can easily be responded to by an emotional tirade and a bunch of shallow statements about how "Left good, Right bad" or "filthy capitalist pigs" or whatever shit.
However, going after someone who might post an ACTUAL argument is much harder; because it'll require some thinking and ACTUAL study of the topic. Which, for someone like Hasan, is the equivalent of throwing holy water on a demon.
