I can fully believe that among over, what, two million GN subscribers, there've been a dozen or so parasocial schizos who've made it their mission to send LMG employees death threats of varying degrees... much like how I can believe that there have been a dozen or so parasocial schizos from Linus's audience who've felt the need to gunt-guard their favorite metrosexual leaf by sending Steve and his team death threats.

What I'm personally calling bullshit on, is the idea that it's Steve's fault that he has parasocial schizos in his audience, when anyone with a following of more than a hundred or so will have such types in their audience. That's just the nature of "communities" in the modern era. I'd be willing to bet that even Dear Feeder has violently schizophrenic parasocial fanboys who'd gladly suicide bomb the Canadian Parliament if Jewsh got arrested for this forum's existence causing a troon ACK! Of course, that would require that the schizo parasocial fanboy first be removed from his mother's basement...

I imagine that it's because it's a 3 hours video and not the video itself but it's funny that a lot of people complained on LTT foruns that one of the reasons that they hate Steve documentary pieces, like the Nvidia one, is because they're 1+ he long

It started as a review/sale channel. I think the height was when it was "non-experts doing crazy projects with limited means" and "doing things no one has the money to do (-and still making silly, funny mistakes)"

They really have the solution there. Limit the amount of resources and have people try to do things.
I suspect that insurance and limits on who can access the lab are what is preventing them from doing things.

Of things that could still work in 2025, looking at their top 5 videos - it is all cheap stuff that doesn't really work.

I feel as though they're very aware of the malice they do by rushing reviews, for reviews they were bested by basically every other tech channel. People who are actually in the market for a new laptop, new GPU or basically anything and have an idea of what they want usually go to people like GM. Linus ran a monopoly in 2015 and it lasted until 2022 before it basically failed. They have very poor SEO now and the YT algo is fucking them, niche tech channels have risen up and have stolen sectors of the market Linus wanted to dominate and now he has nothing.

This guy stole the weird niche Tech sector he had

And for people who want an actual professional rundown on a product people always go to Steve, not because they're aware that Linus and his team are incompetent fools but because of how YouTube shifted their algorithm to be more in Steve's favour. I assume when they were hacked and had all their channels deleted it absolutely fucked up everything.

Non of these channels are probably nearly as bloated as LMG, seriously who the fuck needs over 100 employees to make videos, and why do you need multiple writers when your videos are 20 - 30 mins a piece? And he doesn't even do daily uploads so why does he need an entire team of writers? I don't understand it even considering he had 4 or 5 channels, why the fuck do you need 100 employees? I wouldn't be shocked if Linus did something retarded like take out multiple high APR loans to keep his entire content factory afloat when they were leaking money when everyone was unsubscribing. The videos have also gotten noticeably worse in quality as well. The income from Merch and Screwdrivers can't be the sole thing keeping him afloat, and I very much doubt he's getting paid top dollar from YT these days because of how badly his videos perform.

When LMG goes bankrupt though I can't wait to buy some of the products they bought and hoarded for pennies on the dollar, like the insaneo workstation computers they buff up and then abandon in their storage closet.
 
Video from 2 hours ago "Members Only Videos are HUGE Problem on YouTube" ..... Right above the 6 members only videos they have in the last 2 weeks alone.
