As a counter to your point, Carl Benjamin has become a straight up ethno-nationalist who is well to the right of anyone else working in UK politics at that level.

The issue isn't a person's former position - It's whether they arrived at that position by reasoning and gathering information. That's not something you can figure out with a handshake though, so the default position being suspicion of anyone who "left the left" is warranted.

Despite their claim to have "the science" on their side, there's a disconnect between what the scientists say, and what sensationalist headlines the activists believe. Portland AntiFA will still be there next month, next year, next decade - in government, in schools, in medicine, in services.

The NG will be gone next month. ICE will still be stymied at every level of local government.

This latest action in Portland isn't a victory any more than wiping your ass is a victory against dirtying your underwear.
