It's the whole "forgive them for they do not know what they do". As a christian, for me forgiveness and absolution are different things. And for forgiveness to be given, there must be genuine remorse. And even if there is remorse, the sin must be punished, it may be forgiven, but not absolved. And finally forgiveness is about letting go of grudges; "sure, you scammed me out of money, but it seems you learned your lesson after sharing a cell with tyron, I forgive you, but no, I won't lend you money, but I do hope your life gets better."

To keep going a bit, for things that are worse, like rape or murder, it would be along the lines of, once you get executed, and I had time to heal I might stop wishing you'd burn in hell for all eternity, and perhaps hope you can be forgiven after wandering in purgatory for millennia.

Yes they were.

You have to remember, certain members basically had a monopoly over the party for years and filled the ranks with incompetent jackasses to not worry about being usurped. Clinton was the queen of the party and prevented any and all new talent from organically growing till she would eventually win presidency. Obama being the glitch in her plan delayed everything and set her into overdrive to have full dominion over the party. Once she was gone, it was pretty clear the party had no direction - made worse with the schisms Bernie created in 2016. They really wanted either Pete Buttgay or Kamala to take the helm, but both were such losers it was a plan destined to fail. 2020 was “saved” through pulling on nostalgia for Obungo with Biden’s nomination, but like every modern nostalgia project, they never built anything beyond the jiggling of keys.

Currently Clinton is out, Obama is mostly retired, Biden has been iced and Pelosi retired from tard-wrangling the House. The party literally has no one competent to keep the ship sailing and keep the progressives from eating away the party. Not helping is that the media domination the Dems held for decades is now over. News networks are seeing record low ratings, all the Late Night shows are nearing death’s door, and Hollywood in general is failing to court an audience with anyone under 30.

All Dems have left is the ever aging Boomer/X audience still wrapped around old media’s finger, and the radical progressives. Both groups are throughly convinced Trump is Hitler thanks to the years of sperging and will accept no less then complete condemnation of his administration. There really is nowhere for them to go.

Okay well you can start doling out the punishment whenever you're ready, it's long fucking overdue. There's a lot of hard talk within Christianity and not a lot of follow through.

This was the guy making a "why I haven't left the left" just a month or so ago. He sure seemed to love sucking down dismissing conspiracies not long ago as long as the right people told him to.

Obama didn't want to be shown up, so he chose Biden. Biden was an old fool.
When Biden became president he didn't want to be shown up, so he picked Harris. Harris is a drunk, joker laugh do nothing.
When Harris ran she didn't want to be shown up so she picked Walz, a literal pathological liar and half a retard.
What we have seen in the past two decades is a watering down of the Democratic party because the people at the top never wanted to be shown up, so they picked people and groomed them for positions of power that were never going to be as good.

I would if I could, I'm not in power to doll out punishment, but I do share the sentiment.
Goiing back to your previous post, it seems to be very generational too, I hear a lot of boomers being big on "hate the sinner not the sin", and "let bygones be bygones", but a lot of people closer to me age are just fatigued, specially since a lot of these people seem to be sin incarnate, and keep doing it again an again. Ironically, the bible says to forgive 49x7, which might be a hyperbole, but there are real "people" out there who far exceed those numbers and don't want to stop, get better and correct their ways.

And compare this to Trump 2 where a multitude of people are being built up and being given chances to build a proven record to help lead the party after he retires.

And he's not even being partisan about it. Not only is he letting Vance get shine, he's putting on former Democrats like RFK Jr and Tulsi Gabbard.
And Tulsi was the one who completely ended kamala's first presidential run at the debate in under 2 minutes.
In his second term Trump is doing more for the Democrats than the Democrats have done in the last 20 years.
