Obviously not him, but personally? Some asshole followed me to a friend's place in a fit of road rage when I was a teenager and sucker-punched me when dumbass teenage me got out of the truck to yell at him. When my friends (from their apartment window) and their neighbors saw the first punch thrown, they all came barreling out of their apartments to dispense swift justice on the guy, and he panicked and drove off when he saw a dozen grouchy teenagers piling out of a low-income apartment building (I had fun friends

).
Called the cops, got checked out by paramedics, gave a statement, gave the license plate number of the driver's car, etc. Cops left, I went home, all seemed well.
At 3am that night a different cop rang the doorbell at my parents' house (I still lived at home, 16 years old after all) to give me a traffic citation with a mandatory court appearance. We lawyered up because that was obvious bullshit. On the day of the hearing, we appeared on time, and were told no case associated with the ticket had ever been filed. No charges, free to go, etc.
Turns out the cop knew the guy who punched me and did it just to fuck with us (he deliberately waited to 3am hoping one of us would get mouthy enough to justify an arrest). No punishment for the cop, of course.
Pretty low on the scale of "bad things cops can do" but it was still scummy. The little faggot who punched me ended up going to jail for 3 months and paying the bill for my "mom-mandated" ER visit though.
