Guarantee the pig is subbed to a few ltg and wings clip channels (also on wings, not sure why phil doesn't comment on breaking banquet videos, wings gives way more attention to them than to lummox these days)
 
I do not like Phil playing Silent Hill F. It really is the penultimate example of his unwillingness to engage with anything in a genuine manner.
In a world of incredibly cynical products, remakes, and safe IP cash ins, Silent Hill F does genuinely try something new. It is the opposite of the Silent Hill 2 remake (Phil's apparent game of the year in 2024), which was a safe, frictionless remake. It wasn't bad, but it was exactly what the industry would expect. Silent Hill F is not that, and while it may not be my absolute favorite game (or even favorite this year most likely), I do enjoy and respect it for what it is.
Phil absolutely cannot accept that Silent Hill F is not trying to be Silent Hill 2 remake again. He refuses to work with the story or gameplay.

The gameplay isn't exactly how he expected it to be so it's dumb and bad, there is no point in trying to meet it on it's own level, just slap wetly against it until progress is made. This is partially his own fault for picking Easy, but he also just straight up is not trying to play it properly. On Hard, it feels more like the original Silent Hill than SH2R ever did, as I'm constantly trying to decide whether to engage in the zero-sum game that is combat just to feel safer. Every fight costs something, and there's a tension there. The game is constantly giving you new weapons to fight with, and even a new arm and powers associated with it, and it's dismissed as being "like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden" which is absurd. More on the plot aspects later.

The setting is too Japanese so Phil hates it. A game that is seeped in Japanese culture is dumb because you need to be Japanese to enjoy Japanese culture apparently. Coming from a guy who wants to visit Japan, this is rich. Why would you ever want to go there, Phil? It's seeped in Japanese culture, it's obviously not for you. Enriching yourself in other cultures in any way is dumb; becoming more worldly is stupid. Ironic too that he love the Yakuza games when they're Japanese as fuck. I think it's less about the fact that it's Japanese and more that it's too Japanese to be Silent Hill in his rigid brain. A franchise should never betray your expectations and broaden it's horizons, not even after 25+ years.

The puzzles are not as open to brute forcing as he would expect from some of the easy RE he's used to. There's not much else to say other than the puzzles make sense and Phil is stupid and doesn't bother to think all that hard about the puzzles when he has stream chat to tell him what to do. Anything that isn't the obvious solution is too obscure and "how was anybody supposed to figure that out". I had zero problems with the puzzles in the game and enjoyed some of the harder riddles. There is a steady curve with the first puzzle being incredibly easy and the last one requiring some amount of observation and reasoning, but I never felt stuck on one. Looking forward to Lost in the Fog.

The story is just above him, I don't know how else to put it. I'm not saying it's the most ingenius story I've ever experienced, but even at it's most blunt about it's messaging/themes it doesn't seem to register to Phil, aside from possibly an acknowledgement of the fact that he read somewhere something about the game having a theme. The entire mutiliation dungeon is a great example of his absolute steadfast desire to unenjoy and unengage with something. He never takes any story seriously, doesn't attempt to care, and then makes fun of the game for trying. It's gay to enjoy things, it's gay to get invested in things, it's gay to care. Instead, he would rather make sex jokes about a young girl cutting her own arm off, getting branded, and having the top of her face slowly cut and peeled off, commenting on the (incorrect) medical impossibility of the whole thing. Taunting the game for bothering to try and have some kind of shocking symbolism for it being "too anime" or whatever. I think the writers knew that you can't have a demon fox arm surgically attached to you so easily. I'm sure they also knew that there's no such thing as fog monsters or Dark Shrine realms and spider lillies that grow inside of you. It's a videogame. You absolute faggot. You literal retard. Engage with a game for once in your life.

I could probably go on and definitely will have some more thoughts once DSP makes some more progress (I'd estimate he's about 60% through the game) but I don't want to shit up the thread too much with inane MATI bullshit. Something about how he's treating this game gets to me.
If you truly, sincerely feel that the way you play and absorb videogames as media is both earnest and entertaining, Phil, open your veins.

I actually really enjoyed the game and thought it was somewhat of a breath of fresh air. I'd rather play a somewhat bad game that's at least trying to break the mold and do something different then play "Walking Simulator with occasional monster" number 666. I can understand some of the complaints about the messages involving Japanese culture, because some of that stuff you really have to see/know about before hand, but there's nothing stopping him (or anybody who's confused about it) from just searching it up and reading about it from the actual source. I don't know if I'd put it at the top of my "GOTY" list, but it's definitely near the top.

Broke him? If anything its the opposite. LTG unironically motivated phil to be a (very slightly) better person. Phil has made clear and visible effort to improve both himself and his business. Two things he has always actively avoided and mocked other people when they suggested it.

Its like in high school when you get a little crush on a girl and you dress a little nicer, push a little harder at the gym, start wearing cheap department store cologne, etc. Sound familiar? Thats because DSP has caught feeling for LTG because DSP IS A HOMOSEXUAL FOR BLACK MEN.

Phil should dress like Triple P (That's what he calls him, Triple P) and tell us 20 times how he used to be a FAT no-loader like that but now he's Buff Burnell, while they dress like Phil and Kat.

You talking about the change they're supposed to make so tips aren't taxed. That applies to cash tips and stuff for tipped jobs like waiters. You don't just get to call your income "tips" and expect to not get taxed.

Also he is REALLY upset that Burger King doesn't have a better Halloween menu.
 
Something I didn't think was possible, but DSP has done it: he made his streams even more unwatchable with the constant sound-effect spam from the Kick donations. The tourists and larpers know it's annoying and ""troll"" him by sending donations, but on the other hand DSP knows this as well. So he's basically choosing money over quality regarding his regular viewers, because fuck them. Imagine be an unironic Youtube viewer trying to watch some playthrough, which is constantly bombarded with autistic and childish noises.

It's a constant of his "gameplay" but it's waay more noticeable on horror games cause on top of his "it's gay to care" attitude he tries anything to not get scared just to play the "macho adult that isn't scared" role.

He's deeply afraid of showing interests or care. I still don't get why he has that attitude or where he got it from.
And it's not cause he only cares about money cause he's been doing it forever.

There are a lot of people who are saying it's the best, which I don't agree with but he's going the opposite route. He's saying it's the worst piece of shit ever, that it's besmirching the name of Silent Hill, as if that series has always been the most straight-laced series in gaming. I honestly wish he would stop playing it, because he's given us takes such as Gollum and Kong Skull Island are "would be GOTY if this was ten years ago" while shitting on a perfectly playable game like SHf. He's talking over everything and not getting it, he preports to be interested in Japanese culture yet any chance he gets he shits on it.

He makes the difficulty what he complains about - i.e. story mode is too easy, equip items that make you overpowered, and complains. Too stupid to do puzzles that even on Lost in the Fog difficulty (what I am playing on) are simple enough to use your brain for.

I'm not finished with the game because I don't have the time to just sit down and power through it but so far I'm enjoying it, will I like it by the end? Who knows, but so far it's been fine, I've liked a lot of it, and somethings I've been disappointed in. But Phil is a complete... well, Phil. I'm watching WPIG right now and he's catching up on Silent Hill f game play from last night, and the shit he is saying is absolutely braindead, uninformed, vicious, and toxic. Which is why I wish he would just stop playing, because he doesn't get it and it shows.

All of this but also Silent Hill F stands for silent hill FEMALE and the game forced him to play as hawt asian babe, ewww gross!
