As the farm's resident squirrel rehabber this is kind of sad. Squirrels never attack humans. Most likely this was a squirrel that someone attempted to keep as a pet and learned the harsh lesson that squirrels make absolutely awful pets and then tossed it out. Any squirrel who shows no fear of humans most likely was raised around them.
Also, as bizarre as it sounds, squirrels actually have a concept of wrong and right and they've been known to actually hold a grudge against someone if they feel they've been abused or wronged by them. A squirrel who attacks humans relentlessly like that is most likely one that was abused by a human and so he sees all humans as something for him to exact his revenge on.
They're not domesticated and you can't domesticate them. According to scientific fact, it takes about 25 generations to domesticate an animal. Because they're not domesticated like dogs and cats, the rules that apply to a domesticated pet don't apply to them. If your dog acts up you can scream at it or smack it and it'll run away yelping and go belly up and take it's lower place again in the pack in regards to you and your family. That shit doesn't work on a squirrel. Since it's a wild animal by nature, it's always on guard for what it might perceive as a threat and will react against that threat. So you get idiots who find a baby squirrel and attempt to keep it and raise it as a pet. Then it does squirrel things like piss on your couch or chew into your wood furniture and the human might attempt to swat it away or smack it which the squirrel will perceive as a threat, in which case the squirrel will react by biting and clawing causing the moronic human to realize squirrels aren't pets and then they'll throw it outside leaving a maladjusted* squirrel to attack humans.
*this is a serious side effect of people trying to make squirrels pets. Squirrels learn a lot of squirrel "etiquette" by interacting with other squirrels in the wild. A squirrel who is raised indoors as an attempt to turn it into a pet has never learned the "rules" of being a squirrel and there's quite a few horror stories among rehabbers of poor squirrels who were attempted to be kept as pets and then tossed outside, have ended up maimed or even killed by aggressive males because they never learned that you can't just saunter over to another male who might be aggressively protecting his territory.
-People who used to want quick answers just ask chat GPT now.
I've never bought into the ChatGPT hype but two weeks ago I threw my back out for the first time. I went to the radiologist and afterward I got my xrays and the report from them to bring to my doctor at my follow up exam.
I couldn't read the medical-ese for shit in the report so I cut and pasted it into ChatGPT and asked it to explain it to me in plain English. ChatGPT instantly replied telling me shit like, 'Your back is straight, you have some bone spurs. There's no damage or cracked vertebrae or any serious issues. You just have wear and tear and normal degradation consistent for your age." It then even broke down the insurance codes that were used in the report. I'm not gonna lie - I was pretty impressed with how it was able to do that. To me it was an example of how machine learning can actually be a benefit instead of using it to make shitty artwork and retarded songs about gluing your balls to your asshole.
I found some really obscure self released music on YouTube.
I wanted to find out more about the musician/artist and did some Googling and came across their Reddit account.
I DM'd them, politely, telling them I dug their music and asked if there was more, physical releases, etc.
They went through my Reddit account, which is very vanilla, and found a comment years before that was unkind to Kamala Harris during her dumpster fire of a presidential run back in 2020.
This was during the 2024 election cycle. They responded with a link to the comment and gave me a paragraph or two about how I'm a fascist.
Seriously, this has been one of the curses of social media. It's amazing how many artists I like have turned out to be massive faggots. And I don't mean major label. It's insane how many smaller acts and indie bands feel the need to be insufferable assholes.
There was one NYC band back in the late 90s I liked called Asobi Seksu. They're a cheap shoegaze knockoff but they had some decent tunes. They were NYC based so I used to check out their gigs back then at places like Sin-E, Galapagos Art space, and Glasslands (Flashback for any other oldfag native NYCer Kiwis like me lol). Anyway, aside from a handful of good stuff they weren't good enough to break through and eventually faded away.
Cue a few weeks ago one of their songs popped up on shuffle in my car so I wondered what they were up to. Looked up the lead singer, a japanese chick, and she's out of her fucking mind pants off retarded. Her social media is her just ranting endlessly about how "rapey" guys are and how men suck and fuck you if you're not a lefty and how she was supposedly "abused" and treated like shit for being a woman in the music biz, and any other bog-standard lefty chick complaints. Along with some photos of her with Mandami at Coney Island because apparently he's going to save NYC so we need to vote for the socialist. And some more shit about how rapey men are. And photos of her with her cuck husband who I guess sits there while she rants about how rapey men are.
I found the endless "rapey" comments particularly amusing as this is a girl who wrote an actual lyric in one of her songs that says, "Put your tongue up to my battery". Which I pointed out as a comment on one of her unhinged posts and I was dogpiled by a bunch of male feminist predators who apparently still white-knight her even though she's long gone from the music scene and not coming back.
It's actually kind of sad as there's a lot of smaller indie musicians and bands I liked from the 90s/early 2000s and I've often thought about reaching out to them to see if they want to briefly come out of retirement just for some kind of collaboration or something as a fun project and I've decided against it because the odds of them being retarded are just too high.
As far as people who say "All we wanted to do is play video games", yeah, I have a feeling that's not happening. I've been getting emails and promotions about the new Silent Hill game coming out. I checked it out and boy, is the description a doozy. Well, at least the disclaimers before you can even pass the age check page.
