And that period started no later than 1968, from personal experience.

The best part of the 70s was celebrating the 200th anniversary of our country.

Yeah I think most people lump the Vietnam Era under the 60s but the anti-war movement really started violencemaxxing post-1969.

But political violence was bad even before that. Whenever people say things today are so bad, I like to remind them of the time Puerto Rican nationalists literally invaded the Capitol building and started shooting Congressmen in the House chamber, in 1954.

Today the best people can manage is an unsanctioned tour.

It was almost the entire 60s, 1964-1967 was the appetizers but the main course started in 1968 and lead throughout the 70s.
