Ourside of dealing with a new goverment system, a main perk of h1bs is they are easier to keep an eye on and coordinate them. Indians are easily corrupted and are big on shady practices. So companies either need to trust them to run themselves appropriately (lol) or they need to send an American abroad to tard wrangle which is going to be difficult finding a someone qualified the company can trust and is willing to live in India for a long time.
One of the big secrets as to why jeetery needs to be local to work is their particular brand of asskissing. Simply put, jeets that are too far away from the victim can't perform the same kind of emotional manipulation and deflections regarding the quality of their work to anyone in a senior position. Its much easier to dismiss "Saar" bullshit over the phone or via email, and they're notoriously bad at picking out a persons emotional state without seeing them in person - If you've ever seen a jeet pull a major faux pas for seemingly no reason over a teams call, this is them misreading the room with their asskissing. This, along with an innate desire to avoid leaving papertrails of accountability, is why jeets will always prefer in person conversation over anything else.

Forcing them to work overseas and send results over maximizes the distance from their bullshit, and maximizes the benefits of just rejecting shit work from them entirely.
I can make an educated guess as to why the work needs to be done here but I don’t know for sure. I’m not in tech but my field is tech adjacent. And the power consumption for some of these data centers is MASSIVE. I would guess that there is not enough infrastructure in underdeveloped countries to provide for the largest of these facilities. There could be more reasons but I’d bet that’s a big part of it.
Part of it is executives natural desire for in-person oversight. Quality higher leadership operates almost entirely on interpersonal relationships, and as mentioned above, thats far harder to do over calls or at a distance. Bringing the jeets to the exec means the exec doesn't have to deal with India, and gets the cheap jeetery all the same.

The other part is local conditions. Unreliable power, terrible health conditions, even just ambient noise - jump on a teams call with a jeet who's supposed to be in a real call center and all you hear is trains and jeet screeching around them from coworkers, noise suppression technology can't do shit about it. Conditions are bad enough that their work is often impacted, and to touch back to the above, they can't plaster over bad work anymore due to the separation.

How many jeets does it take to change a lightbulb? I don’t know, and apparently they don’t either!
"There is no problem with the light bulb saaar its a low energy high efficiency model saaar please understand saaar it is to spec and passed review saaar".

Just remember, Trump still has to deal with the Canadian Question. Jeets flood into our country thanks to it's fucked immigration system and then sneak into the states through the north. I wonder if Trump is aware of this issue.

Illinois governor and hotdog eating champion JB Pritzker recently had a photo op with a member of the community to prove Chicago can police itself. The problem is the man he posed with is a wanted criminal in four states. L/A
It's amazing how the Democrats and the left double, triple, and even quadruple down on touting "pillars of society" who prove to be anything but after even the most cursory check on their backgrounds. If they want to prop up such people as the future of their party and country while ignoring the optics, I guess the adage of not interrupting an enemy who's making a mistake applies here.

Catholics lean liberal in more liberal areas, and conservative in more conservative areas. Most Catholics don't regularly attend Mass, which is likely contributing to more liberal tendencies.
Catholics tend to be split fairly evenly, but the demographics of a city or even a diocese can make it hard to tell. The diocese in my area is deep blue and tends to encourage votes for Democrats and only stays mute when Dems have pending pro-abortion measures on the ballot. However, Catholics in the area definitely lean both ways, and a good number of Catholics in the 21-40 crowd seem to prefer parishes that lean conservative. I've seen Catholics in the area say they need to vote Blue to be pro worker/union and to make sure illegal aliens get treated with dignity while others insist on voting Red because they want someone who supports conservative, old-school, and pro-life family values.

I'm hearing the jeet yeet EO applies retroactively to current visas. Does this mean companies are instantly being charged for all current jeets?
No, it means that when they renew their visas, they’ll have to pay.

H-1B visas are only valid for three years and can be extended once for another three. Temporary workers are supposed to leave at that point if they haven’t secured permanent residency (and Indians have long exhausted their country’s allocated green cards so they have a queue over 100 years long), but a loophole in the law allows them to stay so long as they have a pending green card application. This is done through the PERM process and they plan to get citizenship by having their anchor baby sponsor them when they turn 21, using their pending application to stay in the US in the mean time. Part of the PERM process is to verify that no qualified American is available for the job. That’s why they’re so pissed when Americans use jobs.now to find the jobs reserved for their PERM application; after 6+ years in the US and having a kid they never wanted with a woman they hate, they’ll have to go back home if a single qualified American applies.

This is the best whitepill I've seen in a long time. How long do H1B visas last? I'm sure they have to be renewed at some point.
This will prevent new H1Bs from coming over, but we'll still have plenty of existing ones, until their visas expire or they convince a desperate person to marry them for a green card.
I believe they last 3 years, with optional renewal for another 3. But this might take effect regardless next year to all HB1s. I also hear that interviews for marriage visas got way harder to just bullshit. They'll check adresses are combined and stuff like that, that they didn't bother to do before.

Big shout out to Vivek and Elon during Chirstams

The most amazing part, starting Sunday, is that if any current H-1B is out of the country they need to pony up 100k to be let in

Through we can't start partying just yet:

Sorry to cut the celebrations short. After reviewing the details of the proclamation:

• The proclamation DOES NOT apply to individuals already in the U.S. on H-1B status, or to student visa holders on OPT seeking to change their status to H-1B.

• It applies only to individuals outside the United States who are being sponsored for H-1B visas and seeking entry. This is specifically aimed at the Indian IT outsourcing companies whose business model is to sponsor large numbers of foreign workers abroad and bring them into the U.S. on H-1B visas. They may shift to sourcing workers who arrived on student visas or to heavily utilizing L-1 visas.

• H-1B workers could also be affected if they ever travel abroad and require visa stamping in order to return to the United States, even if they are otherwise in valid status.

The proclamation isn’t terrible, but it falls short of truly helping American workers and STEM graduates. Companies like Google and Microsoft won’t be affected, because they source their foreign workers through L-1 visas or from those who arrived on student visas. So when @howardlutnick said tech companies support it, now we know why.

If the Trump administration truly wants to help American tech workers and STEM graduates, it needs to end the OPT program, which was created entirely through regulation. Otherwise, it isn’t serious about fixing this issue.

Now Senator Jim Banks has introduced a Bill called the The American Tech Workforce that:

Wage Floor Increase

  • Current Wage: $60,000
  • Proposed Wage: $150,000
This change aims to ensure that H-1B visa holders earn a salary that reflects the higher wages in the tech sector.

Elimination of the OPT Program

  • The bill seeks to abolish the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program, which allows foreign students to work in the U.S. for up to 12 months after graduation (or up to three years for STEM graduates).

Visa Lottery Replacement

  • The current lottery system for H-1B visas would be replaced with a bidding system, favoring employers willing to pay higher salaries.
So we got more work to do, but it is a start.

Needs to be higher. A new grad at Big Tech in the Bay Area earns $200k. If these foreigners are truly world-class experts who have skills that Americans don’t have, then they deserve world-class compensation. I propose the 99th percentile wage or $1 million (indexed to inflation), whichever is higher.

Alas this reflects my current dilema, I moved to a college town, and all catholic churches tout their vibrant community or chase after mexicans. I'll give them a shot, but I have little hope. I might try another denomination church that's not as pozzed.

I’m currently in a jeet loop on an IT conference call. Jeet A doesn’t know what’s going on, so he adds Jeet B to the call, Jeet B is just as confused as Jeet A so he adds Jeet C, and so on and so on.

Currently on Jeet J….
I once had an INSANE issue with my insurance where they totally fucked something up. Eventually i called the state department of insurance to get it straightened out because the insurance help line was doing fuck all.

Basically an Indian woman from the state department of insurance at first said nothing was wrong, then she went silent for a bit and looked at some stuff, then she she said "stay on the line while we call your insurance company." She kept me on the line while we called an indian at my insurance company and they argued about all sorts of technical legal shit i don't understand. I could tell the state department chick was on my side because she was very straight forward while the other guy kept trying to dodge questions and shit.

He would say "ahhh mmm only the client himself is allowed to ask me that" and i would just say "yep... i'm asking. Whatever this chick wants to know I want to know as well" and he would do it. That happened 5 times. Eventually he got his manager who was a black woman and the same thing happened over and over and over. She was somehow even more of a question dodger, she kept bringing up things completely irrelevant to my problem.

The indian chick from the state department was actually quite nice in the end, when the other people hung up she told me "if you call back juzt pressure theem, you have to make eet their problem, if they try to say it is solved you say it is not and keep asking for escalations".

Good for her and all but fucking absurd that it has come to this. Two indians who technically "represent my interests" fighting it out in a fucking phone call gladiator arena and eventually a fat black cunt gets thrown in the mix.
