but yea my biggest life event lately is on june 10th 2025 i got my vaginoplasty! i got it in montreal, it was not terribly painful or difficult on my end, and the level of care on the part of the nurses was really stellar. i've been recovering at home in the three months since, and the three month mark that just passed means i'm allowed to go back to work now. i've been keeping an eye on the jobline for the past week or so to see what comes up. unfortunately my foreman at the site i was working at before didn't text me back when i told him i can go back to work, so idk what's up with that, but i'd probably be better off getting some more experience somewhere new anyway

i'm a little antsy to get back to work but my options are kinda limited right now due to not being able to drive. my car insurance got dropped for non-payment again and the government cancelled my plates, which i think might have to do with the fine i haven't paid yet for driving without insurance. wish i hadn't done that now LOL but i will pay for it eventually. oh and also my G2 expired so i'm back on my G1 again, and i can't exactly take my test to get my G2 again until i have a car that's allowed on the road...

all really frustrating, i am quite a good driver i think but there is so much money and paperwork that goes into car ownership, and i get into kind of a rut sometimes and then everything kinda has a domino effect.. i can't really afford to pay for all this stuff and also just the thought of sorting it out always makes me very anxious. no matter though i will try to sort it out once i'm getting paid again

i live downtown which means basically there's a decent amount of construction happening near me and i'm hoping to get a good call somewhere in walking distance, if i'm really lucky. if not then it shouldn't be too bad getting something in modest transit distance. there's been a couple calls on the jobline but i'll wait and see if i can't get something good. there's only been one call for apprentices so far anyway

i hope i'm not too out of shape from being out of work so long, before surgery even i was in school for a couple months. so i've been off work about six months now. i had noticed a lot of bottom dysphoria while i was working, so i am really looking forward to being able to work without that weighing on my mind all the damn time. kind of impossible to maintain a tuck for very long in my work clothes while working on the slab.

So I am about to get discharged from the USN because of the Trump Trans Military Ban.

Utilizing my GI BILL for nursing, recently started my first semester. And in 3 years ill get my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN), and become a Registered Nurse (RN.) I was wondering how accepting is the nursing field when it comes to transgender people?

• I understand that random patients will more than likely be transphobic if they end up clocking me but I am more or less refering to my future coworkers. I know that college educated people are more likely to be more liberal, etc.

Just dont wanna end up in a situation where I am losing my livelihood soley for being a black transgender woman again. I live in Florida rn (this is where the military stationed me so I am kinda stuck here for a few years...) but I do plan to move to a more liberal area/state like Denver Colorado.

There were and I Don't mean a little but a lot of Doctors, Nurses, Aids, Dentist, and EMTs who wouldn't treat HIV Positive people due to fear of contracting the diseases when the people in the medical community fear a disease how do you think the general public will respond who have even less information on it.

Even after it was linked to sexual activity fags didn't want to close the bathhouses, they didn't want to be monogamous or wear condoms. Two largest groups in America to this day to become HIV Positive are homos and black women due to homo black men on the downlow. I was a kid in the 80's and teen in the 90's and it was drilled into our heads wear a condom. Why couldn't fags get the memo? Ok, I know this is kiwi farms so opinions are going to range wildly on the homo topic, and sex topics in general, but with schools in particular, the question of sex ed is where all of this was really rolling around. And with kids who are same-sex attracted, like with kids who are opposite sex attracted, the behaviors in question happen regardless of whether or not education occurs. I'm not gonna argue this point, the fact that abstinence only or even no education on sex issues doesn't work is pretty well documented now. Maybe you want to say that parents should do it, but that's accepting that there will be a hell of a lot of cases where they actually won't and society will have to deal with the failure states. I actually don't think there needs to be so much focus on acceptance of gay people in schools either, just being neutral and not actively policing it, and enforcing neutral rules of respect. You don't need to encourage it, or even be super affirming, just don't make a case out of it. This includes bullying btw, its never gonna go away entirely so just keep a neutral threshold of acceptability and mediate as best you can, but accept that the super flamboyant kid is probably gonna get picked on a bit.

But I think there is an obvious categorical difference between acknowledging the existence of homosexuality and treating as likely to occur in the student body, and what's been going on with the trans phenomenon. The latter has involved pretty easily documented cases of children being identified by adults as having trans leanings and then being encouraged to pursue transition over the objections of parents who say this stuff came out of nowhere. Some of it is internet grooming obviously, but the well-meaning idiots who see the weird autistic kid and instantly start feeding him all this stuff about why he might be a girl inside, feeding him into a medicalization pathway that tries to get them on Lupron because that is the standard of care WPATH recommends. As with the idea of segregating women's spaces, the actual truth about what the UK is not denying people the right to transition, its just not fully endorsing the idea that you can literally change sex. Schools absolutely should not be encouraging medical decisions by children or teenagers in spite of parental objections, which is what was occurring.
