No matter who it is people will always frame a person's character as whatever is more convenient for their narrative. For the past 15 years we've seen tons of people, mostly on the right losing their jobs and prominent connections for tweets that can be as old as several years. A situation that I'm reminded of is when Cenk Uygur was cancelled for his "ignorant" remarks about women from 18 years before at the time. Which got him booted out of justice democrats, an organization he co-founded. Cenk isn't a righty, but the situation is still the same.

What worries me is the dude who runs Palantir literally wants to use his company to track people who have said evil things about Charlie Kirk. This goes beyond simply tracking down someone on Xitter and calling their employer and letting them know they've celebrated someone being shot. Now a government organization(I think? they might be pretty close) is going to actively monitor and archive you.

I believe the only saving grace of this is that the FBI seemingly can't catch any of the people they're tracking before they blow anyone's brains out and an hero themselves. This redditor went on a multi-paragraph spiel about what it would take for the divide between the left and right to be mended... including this gem, "To reach this solution, we need to create spaces for genuine dialogue".

I don't know how anyone could not see the irony of saying that in a thread regarding the political assassination of a man who was shot in the throat in front of his children while trying to create a space for genuine dialogue. They can't grasp it, they can't figure out that the killing of Charlie was a sign that we are passed the time for "creating spaces to have genuine dialogue".
