The Birth of a Nation by Griffith. Instead of radicalizing me with the Klan-glazing, I ended up finding the whole thing cringe and most importantly, unbelievably boring to sit through. I have watched tons of silent films before so that isn't the problem either.

Ironically, most old films (40s, 50s) I have watched actually made me a lot less racist with their genuine characters.
 
Y'know, I've seen people rave about this movie for years, and I've been algoshown clips, yet I still have no idea what the plot is, and no one's really talked about said plot.
It's supposed to show racial tensions escalating on a hot summer weekend in Bed-Stuy.

All it ends up showing is that niggers have no respect for anything. Family, private property, public property, how people conduct their own goddamn business, et cetera.
