FBI arrests 2 after incendiary device left under FOX 13 News vehicle

MAGNA, Utah — Two men have been arrested after allegedly leaving an incendiary device underneath a FOX 13 News vehicle and then forcing an evacuation of a Magna neighborhood when the FBI served an overnight warrant on their home.
The men, Adeeb Ahamed Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31, were booked into jail and face multiple charges, including Threat of Terrorism, Possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Possessing Explosive Devices.
The device underneath the FOX 13 News vehicle was originally located on Friday and determined to be real. According to officials, the device had been lit but "failed to function."
Because of the type of device discovered and where it was located, it was considered a significant threat to public safety, leading the FBI to assume jurisdiction over the case.
During the FBI investigation, the suspects were tracked to a Magna home in the 2700 South block of 8500 West, which Salt Lake County property records show Adeeb Nasir owns. Both men lived at the address, according to a probable cause statement.
On Saturday, the FBI served a warrant on the home, along with the Salt Lake City Police Department and Unified Fire bomb squads to make sure no other explosive devices were a danger inside.
The men were located at the home, and during the search, told investigators that "two hoax weapons of mass destruction" that officials discovered were "real," the arrest report stated.
Because of the devices, the home was evacuated, as well as nearby homes in the neighborhood.
Although the warrant was issued for the search of evidence related to the incendiary devices found under the FOX 13 News vehicle, law enforcement officials "observed additional contraband and evidence of crimes outside the scope of the original warrant, to include firearms and firearm related items, explosives and explosive-related components, illegal narcotics and associated paraphernalia, as well as electronic devices reasonably believed to contain evidence" of the original device that was discovered.

The stations that carry ABC programming in all the US Broadcast Markets, they came to ABC as an organized group, and informed ABC/Disney that they would no longer be carrying Kimmel. They would be pre-emptying his show with something local. They stated the show would be pre-emptied indefinitely. Even if ABC put out the show tonight, it would only air in New York and Los Angeles.

This exactly. Nexstar owns a boatload of local ABC affiliate stations. And there are others. These companies very likely heard from their local station managers that they wouldn't air Kimmel's show, telling ABC that "they can feed it, but we ain't airing it." As you said, they were willing violate some contract provisions and air "Mr. Ed" or "The Jackie Gleason Show" instead.

I don't know if it's purely an American thing in terms of exuberance of the effect, but plenty have noted that our mythos and psyche is entirely based upon martyrs. A guy dying for his beliefs, at the right place and right time, will move mountains in terms of the overall ideological and mystical makeup of the country. Charlie set up the entire system of bringing people back into belief, whether it was religious or Americana, and everything was set by his own hands to the right time and right place. With his death it triggered the necessary means to get over the psychological, social, and ideological hump into becoming better, more well rounded people without the weight of the past bullshit neolib, socialist, and boomercon orthodoxy that we've had to wade through and weighed Americans down.
