Haven't seen it mentioned much with Kirk dominating the news, but a black student named Trey Reed was found hung on a tree a couple of days back in Mississippi at a college campus. The coroner called it a suicide with no signs of foul play involved while the parents have hired a Civil Rights Lawyer(lol) as they've claimed their son to have experienced lots of racism so it was them good ol' boys who did an old fashioned lynching.
You'd also be right to assume that in the framing of the scarce corporate media articles they make it sound like he was lynched without outright saying it, giving them a lot of leeway to cover their asses when their source are just bullshit people are saying on social media. If you look up his name you'll see a fair few articles and they'll always be dishonest in that weaselly lying by omission way that journos do. It'll be interesting once the state crime lab gets back with its own results, as if there's anything other than a strong denial that foul play was involved we'll see journos pumping out slop as a family weaponizes the death of their son in order to win the ghetto lottery.
It's hard not to be jaded about death this week. I'd love for the kid be alive and grow to be a contributing member of society, but the rot of politicized media leaves me bitter. If the story picks up steam in the next couple weeks all of the worst people will use his corpse as a cudgel instead of letting the soul rest.
