Gaymer X, or at least the Australian iteration is a joke.

If you just read Kotaku and their posts about it you'd think it was a massive event to rival PAX or Comic Con.

In reality after gushing how successful their first year and associated kickstarter was, they actually only got a few hundred attendees.

This year was their last after once again running a kickstarter, some sponsors bailed and they had a big sulk to Kotaku about it.

They then ran a second kickstarter to fund an after party.

From past experience helping with and running parts of conventions, If your convention relys on kickstarter and patreon to function, you need to ask some serious questions.

Is there actually some hostility to gay gamers such that they need a separate con or is this just some bullshit where they created a bullshit con for absolute nobodies who really just have no presence in the industry because they have no talent?

Not really. It could be a fun specialist con, but it's not something that is big enough to require not only multiple national events, but international ones too.
Obviously from the fact they can't support it financially and attendance is so low. They'd be better off financing one primary con and then licensing out the name to groups that want to create one in their area.
But I suspect there's a lot of grift going on, especially if it's constantly getting kickstarter funding.

Jake Alley has spent hours sperging on Twitter today.

Jake thinks "swatting" should have an attempted murder charge.

'SJW' idiots are so triggered they have started burning the Secret Empire comic books, the author has called them out for the 'anti-fascists' acting like the actual Nazis once again. Jake Alley of course defends the idiots.

I saw there was some massive Googleshng shit when I brought up his twitter feed. Jake apparently sperged out about how 'nazis' are like viruses and that everyone should listen to him rather than "utterly oblivious white dudes."

But Jake, you *are* an utterly oblivious white dude.

And how on earth can anyone who claims to be tech savvy be unable to find a platform other than Twitter from which to sperg?

Are we the stalkers? I've seen screenshots of him get posted to 8chan but he doesn't have his own thread there. Did we get a mini shout-out?

As for his virus sperging: Jesus Christ, you're on twitter and you're using a really simple metaphor (Nazi = bad, Virus = bad; harmful virus spreading through host = harmful ideology spreading through host society). The world doesn't need 200 tweets about this shit. You're not Tolstoy writing "/pol/ and Tumblr"

And I love that he put 'tumblr raids' next to 'foreign invasion' - posting a LOL FAGGOT gif in #feminism #SocialJustice truly is warfare :story:

I'm pretty sure he did end up with his own thread on /cow/ briefly after pics of him got posted in another thread there. He doesn't really make a distinction between us and "chan culture", though. Pretty much anyone who publicly relates SGG/Violet Hargrave to Jake Alley is a "stalker" (and a nazi) in his mind.

That children's toy set those two supposed to be adult males couldn't stop tweeting about clearly says on the box the figure is a 'Goblin King.'

No, he's only an expert on rare endocrine disorders, unknown to even scientists, which cause unfortunate women to be born with penises and copious amounts of body hair.

Has never lived as a woman. Has never presented as a woman. Has rarely interacted with women in real life outside of his immediate family. Presumes to speak on women's issues.

Is more concerned about being a white person talking over people of colour than being a fucking neckbeard talking over actual women.

Jake Alley's suicide prevention cat must only save him because of "respect."

Reading a bit about it know, they held an event that wasn't exactly filled to the brims with people but they still needed a sponsor to give them $20k to pay for their important VIP party, VIPs being "cool internet people" I guess, fucking lol!

And wasn't this the convention were some organizers were accused of pocketing money?
