I think that mindset has allowed it to sort of become a version of reddit. Its not on the main forums, but pick the right games, then get into the right groups, its no different that discord really.
 
Follow up to my other post, as a warhammer fan I’ve had a theory that most troonery/troons congregate around geek/nerd hobbies like rpgs,warhammer, and video games. If you had a button to delete troons if they’re involved in nerd hobbies, troons would cease to exist if you pressed it.

Show me how to do a cross-server search for terms in servers I'm not already in. You can't do that. You also have to join and be given access to channels to search them. It's designed to keep things out of the public eye as much as possible.

Show me why I want my 3-person shitpost chat searchable by anyone but them. Discord's got its infestation like any service (including KF, it seems), but I'm not throwing away a useful communication device just cause troons use it for nefarious purposes.

That's not a secret nor is it anything unique to troons. People into niche things will often flock to communities surrounding said niche things. Some of them have niche's which overlap with non-niche things and will try to flock to the larger community and talk about their niche in the larger community. The real issue comes when the leaders of the niches become militant to defend their niches, an action most often performed when the leader of the niche community is guilty of grooming children. The militant niche leader tells those in its group that people want to destroy their niche to groom them towards becoming militant with them. Those that reject the violent ways of their niche leader are excommunicated while the leader manipulates those who wish to stay. And eventually leads them to violence. All while comfortably stating they are protecting them as members of their niche continue to groom them to be more violent. It's also why it's always a niche or minority and often starts when people are children. It's not really exclusive to troons, but it is one most successful with troons. It's likely because it's a lot easier to manipulate delusional people who had parental issues than it is to manipulate those with a sound mind and strong family bonds.

Yeah. Half the shit I see people blaming the Jews for with basically no information that actually points to them is retarded. My point is mostly, I'm surprised I'm not seeing more of that.

Half the replies I've gotten to that comment seem to be from people trying to convince me it's dumb. I already know it's dumb. But so is 80% of the jewish conspiracy shit people believe. That's why it's surprising to me. I especially remember the first day or two. It seemed like half the site was saying "The killer is already on a plane back to Israel", because they weren't caught immediately (as if that's a realistic expectation). My point is yes it's retarded, but it was also retarded the last 6million times people here did it. Which is why I expected to see more of it.

The point is that it presents itself like, and is used like, an internet forum, but it's not. It's basically an IRC chat, except the scale of the service is 100x beyond what IRC ever was and it has total centralization. It's a vast swath of totally unsearchable information unless you either a) already know where to look and have permission to be there or, b) are Discord administration since they obviously monitor all chats regardless of privacy using automated tools. This disproportionately benefits bad actors, but there is a solution and Discord has it but they refuse to use it. If it was just an inherent issue like with IRC, where the nature of the service is that it's private, that would be one thing, but that's clearly not the case and Discord should not be pretending they can't fucking find and ban loony troons when they will nuke your ass from orbit for being too chuddy.
