Now the question is if this will actually get to trial or if he will just plead guilty hoping for a life sentence instead of whatever Utah's preferred method of execution is.

For the executioner, yes I agree. Obviously im not calling the authorities murderes because they have no malice. Doesnt mean they weren't murdered. In the case of George Floyd, the murderer was a fentanyl dealer. For Joan of Arc it was a politically motivated Church court. I dont see the need to redefine murder to protect the innocent police. Just determine who's actually responsible for the death.

I transcribed the text exchange from the images of the filing. Keep in mind that there's no exact timestamps for each message but I assume each ellipse means a significant break in time between responses. EDIT:

It could be one message, a word, a single question mark, a photo, an accidental double-sending of the prior text, or even a whole conversation. Probable cause statements are just about demonstrating probable cause, so presumably what has been excised is not relevant to the specific goal of demonstrating the factual background to probable cause. Maybe it could be excising a notification in the text log, like a notification that the troon lover tried to call the shooter. But it does not indicate a lapse of time.

That rifle was quite literally the smoking gun that got him caught. If the FBI didn't release that photo I don't think he would have felt as pressured by his dad to confess. Also isn't it a retarded move to tell someone you're responsible for a crime because that now makes them equally as guilty if they fail to report it? Way to throw your lover under the bus like that.

Publications should not be able to put out purposefully misleading or catastrophizing headlines when 99% of people don't click the link especially. Things like this MUST be illegal because unless outright banned, natural selection will push their prominence.

It could just be that I'm schizo but something (besides the gay shit, of course) about these texts really does rub me the wrong way.
  1. Tyler claims that he meant to keep it a secret from Lance but he decides to tell him anyways because? (Plus, him deciding to tell Lance couldn't have exactly been a spur of the moment thing, considering he had to prepare the letter.)
  2. It says the police have a photo of the letter from the DMs, but do they have the actual letter?
  3. Lance was aware that Tyler was engraving bullets and that didn't raise any red flags? (Also you'd think he'd have been asking more questions but, that's just me; he could've actually been shocked, I guess.)
Also, Tyler told his parents he had been at home, sick. I'm curious what he told his roommates because they obviously would've known he wasn't at home.
