I only just found out who Rebekah Jones is and I already know I'm going to hate her. I'd rather be a devil than an sjw because at least devils go after people who are actually evil.

At this point, I have no fucking idea if the shooter was a Christian Trump supporter or a passionate LGBTQ ally because nobody can make up their goddamn mind.

It doesn't matter what politics Tyler Robinson had because it still happened. This guy was able to kill someone in broad daylight, and rather than worry what this says about our country, its gun laws, free speech, or if this will inspire future shootings, everyone's trying to pin this on his political views instead of focusing on the crime itself.

Charlie Kirk was a massive asshole with a horrible perspective on things, but what happened to him was still murder, regardless of anyone's political views. You can't speak out about political violence and then make an exception because someone you don't like happened to get shot. It's either "gun violence is okay" or "gun violence is not okay".

Yes, many people can make up their goddamned minds. There are two pretty distinct camps: one that is saying "If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then it's a duck" and one that is trying to pretend that [Patrick Tomlinson voice] "Actually it is dogs who quack."

It does matter which politics the murderer has because the act was very blatantly motivated by his opposition of the politics of the guy that he murdered. People are focusing on the crime itself, and part of that is focusing on the motivation behind it, just like we all want more details when "a car" runs over a bunch of people. That car was commanded by someone. Were those people killed due to a heinous act or irresponsibility? Was that "someone" drunk? Were they on their phone, distracted and texting? Was it "an act of God?" Did they just have a stroke and there was nothing anyone could do? Or maybe was it malicious. Maybe they hated a certain demographic and decided to commit a murderous act.

The nicest, most moderate guy who gave voice to the views of a LOT of people, was shot. As @Ultraman Orb Dark demonstrates calling Charlie "an asshole" a lot of people are picking up the signal, "Oh so we aren't allowed to disagree at all then?"

And well, like Charlie Kirk pointed out several times, when we stop talking to each other, that's when the fighting starts. And one side is hearing loud and clear, "shut up and stop talking!"

So those people are picking up the message loud and clear and now taking it very serious.

I'm sorry, I should have phrased that better.

I was trying to say that while I'm not a fan of the guy, I still don't think he should have been shot for expressing his views.

I do agree with you, but my response was more of a refutation of this faux "Who really knows why he did what he did? lol" sentiment from a lot of people which I see as pretty transparent gaslighting.
