The answer is yes but the simplist way to look at is like it's a hunting rifle. It was likely zeroed at 100 yards and at 200 yards it would have about 3in of drop from poa. So if you were using a some what low powered scoped like a 3-9x40 which is super common on hunting rifles and you were aiming around about the nose which would look about between the eyes then you would likely hit just below the chin and if you were a little shakey you might even bobble and hit the throat. That's my take I could be wrong and he could be super secret musad man the purposely aim for the throat to send some sort of coded message to the rest.

He probably just needs to give a full confession and accept a plea deal. Keeping him in jail for life without parole is a greater punishment anyway, plus reduces the chances of people propping him up as some kind of martyr.
There's literally nothing he can do to avoid the death penalty. His only hope is if he can live long enough for a AOC/or any other communist presidency to get his death sentence commuted. I could see him getting the firing squad being changed to lethal injection if he starts naming names but at this point he sees what he did was a sacrifice for beating fascism.
They already have. But I don't think a plea deal would be offered unless he drops names about antifa.
Be at a court where a corrupt and politically biased judge is in charge. Far left judges do everything in their power to obstruct justice and defend criminals who commit murders. I hope he gets sentenced in a republican court.
I strongly disagree with this, because a life sentence is often reversed after a couple of years by court judges that admire criminals. We need the death sentence to permanently put this case to rest.
