Yeah, it’s shocking how many people think it is acceptable to act like this so openly. I tend to think the “freedom of speech isn’t freedom from consequences” is some faggy shit, but cases like this are the exception. Enforcing the social norm of “people should not be brutally murdered for simply expressing their political beliefs and engaging in the democratic process, and it should never be encouraged” outweighs that other policy IMO. If only because should that social norm fail, a whole lot of us are going to be dead, AND we’ll be left without freedom of speech too.

Some food for thought is that in the context of the United States, consider that during in the days of the American Revolution and the immediate post-independence era it was a very popular practice for people to use pseudonyms in their writings or statements because there was a fear of violence, getting challenged to a duel or being tarred and feathered by an incensed mob or posse.

Video on him arriving showed him walking straight legged. It's believed that he shoved the rifle down the back of his pants and drapped the back of his shirt over the top of the gun. His backpack obfuscated the bulge the rifle on his back/under his shirt.
Police stated he was shown arriving on campus at around 8am. Whose to say he didn't have plenty of time to either drop the rifle off first or simply take his time walking to his position without causing alarm. It seems implausible someone can hide such a large gun like that, but from personal experience it's not that difficult. It's easy to blend in on a college campus especially during such a large event.

my wife showed me a facebook video claiming the shooter went to one of Kirk's prove me wrong campus things and yelled at him which I am 99% sure is fake news and I obviously didn't save but big if true

I posted earlier that this has the same stink of the Trump assassin, the Las Vegas shooting, Seth Rich, and others* where the FBI coughs up a name and picture, then shuffles the public on to the new Narrative of the Week without ever addressing blatant inconsistencies in the official narrative. IMO, they are never going to tell the public the full story.

* Given that the assassination happened on 9/10, I will throw 9/11 in there as well, i.e. "Here are some passports in Arabic that we found in literal tons of burning debris. You're a very bad person for questioning it and should just get on board with going to war." And I am aware of the gravity of the making 9/11 comparisons, but we already have talking heads on X seeding a narrative that foreign powers ordered the hit on Charlie so I'm not 100% ruling out warhawk shenanigans, either.
