I have no takeaways other than that these people are fucking disgusting.
Janitor has always felt icky to me when I looked around a few times. It's very close to being chub style bad.
why are so many zoomers/gen alpha "objectums"
Because some parents, especially millennial parents, embraced a never tell them no sort of parenting and went hands off on internet access. While somewhat, but not really excusable for boomers and gen x, millennials truly have no excuse since they used the internet a lot as well. But if you dare bring it up you get the whole "IM TOO BUSY TO PARENT!" as if checking history, and setting boundaries with your child is the most difficult thing ever. They may try to sneak around it, but you can make it a pain to a point they give up.

why are so many zoomers/gen alpha "objectums"
Because a lot of them are suffering from honest-to-god Reactive Attachment Disorder due to how little their parents interacted with them as children.

One of the key symptoms of Reactive Attachment Disorder (also known as RAD) is over-attachment to objects. You know that sick bastard Harry Harlow's monkey experiments where the baby monkeys would always choose a terry-clothed, fake monkey over literally everything else because they were severely traumatized, and sucked at social interaction due to extreme parental neglect? Yeah, that's basically it.

Furthermore, RAD is also infamous for having several of the same symptoms as autism-to the point where it was originally believed that both conditions were caused by the same thing.

There was another result from Harlow's studies that explains a lot. Monkeys that grew up without a mother had issues, but were at least able to function. Monkeys that grew up with *only* a mother (no childhood peers) couldn't socialise: too fearful and timid, bullied+rejected by other monkeys. (Monkeys with neither were even worse.)

Absent parents will damage you, but overprotective parents will destroy you. Too many kids spend all day in their rooms (ironically to "protect" them), miss the critical window for learning to socialise, and end up stunted adults who can't connect to others. imo these are the ones retreating into virtual worlds.

I always wind up warning people here and elsewhere that it's okay to protect your child, but if you shelter them, it's disastrous. Children have to socialize with others, and if you restrict that, the chances of them becoming a degenerate online is much higher. The best way to handle it is to teach children what to recognize is wrong and right, and how to avoid it. So many cows came from too restricted or free households

Anyway, this seems to be a disturbingly common trend on Janny, Many of its most popular porn bots are straight up rape scenarios, and I can only assume they are targeting either the most deranged men or degenerate booktok women who fantasize about being kidnapped.
An app called spicychat recently got taken off the iOS App Store. I don’t know why specifically. I haven’t yet cared to look deeply at what kind of stuff was on there but I remember briefly looking at it before and remembering the moderation to be far more lacking than anything mentioned in the thread so far.

Shitty parenting? They grew up on the Internet and all they know are objects.

Meanwhile, seems "Zoomers" and "Generation Alpha" kids in general cannot freely play outside: they gotta have their parents tag along.

(which may be needed given the state of Current Year Clown World)

No, what happened is that there were two fake monkeys: one that was a wire mesh with a rubber nipple and the other with the terry cloth but no nipple, and the baby monkeys would practically starve themselves rather than go with the ugly "mother".

They have their parents go with them to friggin' job interviews...

This is such an issue here as well. Trick or Treat got canceled for Trunk or Treat because parents were scared of children being hit by cars. Mind you, when I did trick or treat as a kid, no one get hit by cars as we had sidewalks, and drivers would know to look out for children who may cross the road due to signs and many community notices. Now no one really decorates anymore, and when I saw the trunk or treat decorations it looked pathetic. Only 25% put effort, the other 25% don't care, and 50% just don't decorate their trunks at all. It's one of the most pathetic things you will ever see. The kids look bored, the parents look bored, but no one wants to change it because "WHAT IF A CAR HITS THEM" Sure people may drive recklessly, but it was always in the safest neighborhoods.

Parents embracing antisocial parenting and being your kid's best friend is really going to show more than ever in a few decades. Might just have wait a few years to see how ugly things get.

We're already seeing it two generations down. We went from "Go play" to "Self policing" all the way to "TV/Internet can raise them" in less than a century. That's why so damn many of them have convinced themselves that not only are they two spirit wolf dicks in the spirit realm, but falling in love with pretend words on the screen- at least the ones capable enough to have some form of conversation.

The only good thing I can see coming of this debacle is some of them might learn grammar. I can't tell you how many times a day I see a sentence from some "professonal" that changes tense in the same sentence, little alone paragraph.

It's funny, when I was a kid ( I was born in '95), I really wanted to go to 4chan. It was this cool place where "hackers could do anything" (yes, I believed that raid culture was real). But I didn't do it, not because my Mom told me not to but because it was "for adults." I still remember finally going to 4chan when I was 16 and being really disappointed lol. Point being, you can self-police yourself even as a child if you're raised right, it's why I get so baffled as to how so many kids get groomed on Discord. Is nobody teaching them not to mess around with personal info/etc?

It's this paradoxical mixture of utterly helicoptering IRL but when it comes to the internet being completely hands-off. Compound that with covid lockdowns during important years for socialisation and then right after that this burst of AI chatbot shit, you have a perfect storm of utter derangement.

In reference Harlow's studies, I'd argue that these kids are in that terrible spot of having neither a present parent or socialisation, because it's not like these parents even do anything aside from stopping their kids from socialising in-person. The parents instead just sit on their ass and scroll through Facebook or whatever all day too, the internet can be the surrogate parent in their place, is what they probably think.

Yeeesh. Okay. Here's my "In defense of"

First off, lets be real. If you haven't loved, I don't think it's reasonable to have strong opinions on the issue. Condemnation of any practice that is entirely self destructive without harming others is wild. This isn't chatting with your AI boyfriend while driving or letting him/her talk you into heroin addiction. I seen the kid who killed himself and that's tragic, but that happens sometimes even without AI especially to young men.

I don't have time to finish this post. Will resume later, but trust me. Robots are based

Alright nignogs I'm back.

The biggest complaint seems to be that AI partners are a hugbox. That they exist to validate and repeat back what sad people want to hear. That's also how relationships largely work. The fact that you are here, on KF, surrounded by like minded people who more often than not will agree with you on issues doesn't seem to bother you? Kf is literally nigger bluesky, which is just a trannyhugbox. People exist in echo chambers. They seek out friends, partners, etc who share the same feelings and opinions about important things, because it is retarded to surround yourself with people you can't stand.

My arguement is twofold.
1. You would not date someone that was often contentious with you. There would be a limit to the amount of time you could stand that person.
2. Trying to control someone else is gay.

"But Clara plz. They need reality checks."
Why? Everyone does the same shit. Including almost everyone here.
"But Clara hugbox bad :("
Your life is a hugbox. A&N is a hugbox. BP is a hugbox. Every appreciation thread. Etc etc.

Consider instead that fucking a robot would be based.

What really gets me is the learned helplessness they have. They need someone 24/7 over their shoulder. Yes, this is an issue with many adults too, but with them it's much worse. They will just jab their finger hopelessly at a kiosk thinking if you press it hard it goes faster, or it works and get genuinely shocked when I tell them to just press the arrow in the corner.

I don't think my dad knew about 4chan, or he cared so I discovered it very young. Had the similar thought about hacker website being real, and feeling dissapointed as well. The music board was mostly nice besides the smug hipsters who have since left, and the entire board basically becoming the kpop board. And no, no one is teaching them anything. When stuff like character.ai, netflix, youtube and roblox become babysitting tools, parents don't really give a shit. And they are absolutely oblivious when their child gets disturbed from finding something horrifying.

This is genuinely one of the funniest things I have ever read. (archive)

Now, you're all probably wondering who that mysterious "favorite (male) video game character" was.

Spoiler Alert: It's Arthur Morgan, and Ms. Crazy here does not like when people "slander" him.

She's also adamant that despite her behavior, and admitting to having OCD, and schizoaffective disorder with psychosis that she does NOT need to be put on meds. That, and for people to not bypass the NSFW filters on chatbots if they have a history of mental illness.

All I'm gonna say is at least she isn't using actual celebrities like some people do. We're going to see more cases like this, and the few in China where they are dating chatbots due to China's own little gender divide.
We actually had one do that. Needless to say, the job is mostly self-driven, and they didn't make the final cut since they'd likely need a full time wrangler.
While locally we haven't seen those sort of issues, we do have a case where teachers are not allowed to fail students. The admin screeches at the teacher to change the grades, or they quietly round up the grades. They aren't allowed to give zeros at the local public schools anymore, and I think 50 is the lowest they can go.
