While a noble mentality, there's a core difference between events like Pearl Harbor, the slave trade, and 9/11. The population that committed those things are both dead/ineffectual and no longer trying to continue hostilities. The Japanese are friends with us and have made amends, so too have the Germans. The slave owners of old were trounced by their white brethren and while the blacks don't think it's enough, concessions have been made and the olive branch repeatedly extended. Muslims on the other hand are still on an active jihad against us or otherwise trying to undermine our country. Jan 6 was a ton of people, many of whom had no plans to do what they did that day, and thus had no OPSEC. Even then, there are certainly some people involved who have never been and will never be caught.

I think you’re severely underestimating how difficult it can be to find someone in mountainous or desert terrain. Look at all the disappearances you see in that region (Kenny Veach is the one that comes to mind immediately) or fuck, Afghanistan.
