Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on Wednesday.

Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

Multiple reports currently say Charlie Kirk made it to the hospital and is currently stable but the extent of his injuries and likelihood of recovery isn't currently known. He is in critical condition.

More likely that was just what the shooter had on hand. Being a 30-06 Mauser, it was probably some sporterized rechamber/conversion some boomer did way back in the day, since I highly doubt they're going out and seeking FN Mle. 50's.
 
I would never and will never call for violence and murder like these bluesky fucks have been doing, mostly because this shit is so tiring and I just want it all to end... (And I am so fucking sick and tired of this somebody needs to "do something" wink wink, shit they've been pulling lately.)

But after 10+ years of them calling us literal nazis, and saying that the most heinous violence is justified against me and mine for disagreeing with them, claiming that the one time conservatives actually protested (justified or not, it's irrelevant), where the only casualty was one of the conservative protestors, was one of the worst things to happen to this country- after months of burning this country to the ground in "firey, but mostly peaceful" riots, these faggots better "hope and pray" that their violent rhetoric and actions do not lead to the civil war in this country that they seem to want, because I truly can not see it going well for them if they drag us there...

Unfortunately these violent assholes will likely burn half the country down around them when they fail, so I hope it doesn't come to that, even though it is seeming more and more like it will...

Why not both, in this case someone could have staked out their campus for a long time and this case the right opportunity came up. You don't need that much preparation to kill someone from about 200 yards away or 2 football fields away.

If I was nick fuentes, I would probably say something like "I apologize to charlie kirk for the attitude my fans and I have displayed towards him. Weve had disagreements, I still don't like his political positions but I realize he was just a good person who wanted to do good" something like that, but that's probably just my temperament. He can be criticized for zogging but there are ways to do it, dave smith comes to mind. Im not saying what they're saying is wrong when it comes to political radicalism, but it's just that, all that is being pumped into the internet before the body is cold. That to me indicates that none of them care about being a good human being and care more about trying to radicalize as many people as possible before this event becomes less relevant. Again, there's a way to do things, Benny Johnson and Matt walsh denounced the left but did it civilly.

American conservatives are well within their rights to be offended by sections of the left celebrating Kirk's murder, but at the same time it's hard to take most of it seriously when it simultaneously condemns the action but also calls for reprisals. This is without a suspect in custody, mind you, it's still all guess work and generalizing.

I don't expect people to care if the truly don't care, but if people can't see how someone being shot, especially someone as inoffensive as Kirk, is a bad thing for everyone regardless of political affiliation, well...
I also expect grave dancing from edgy people online. It's the internet. It's a fucking problem when it's not just a handful of edgy shitposters, but real and normal people who aren't just making a joke, they feel morally justified and truly happy that someone was shot and killed for the crime of having different opinions. That's grim.
