Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

They almost certainly have something on him, it’s near impossible to avoid complete detection from surveillance cameras these days. If the shooter has, then I’d actually start believing the inside job story.

The issue is that it takes a surprising amount of man hours to comb through that shit. As a slight power level, I’ve spent a previous job doing a lot of that type of work pretty often, and it’s a fucking pain. Even something as routine as simple as a gas station may yield hours of work for a crime that lasted ten minutes.

Edit: I should probably note that while it’s hard to avoid cameras entirely these days, even this shooter got caught on some phones, there’s a world of difference between getting caught on video and it actually being something usable by police, let alone something useful in identifying and tracking an unknown assailant.

Well yeah, it's meant to give admin a power trip when someone tags a building, not stop assassinations. The reality is in current year anyone with enough effort can kill most people in most places. The barrier to entry is the attackers competence, not the defenses of the would be victim.

I am throwing my condolences into the thread no matter how fast it updates. May Charlie's family know safety and peace. May Charles rest well despite his tragic end. I watched his content and did not always agree with his arguments but I loved his dedication to debate and free speech.
