I know it's been a crazy time for over like a decade now but when I saw this news today, it really felt like the world changed. There's been a lot of talk for some time now about current year being like the Days of Rage way back in the past, but it hit me today that it's been here. As of now, we will be the ones who looked back to the weird dysfunction and violence of the 60s and 70s, and the future will look back to us. Between this, BLM, the pandemic, and all the assorted assassinations and street violence, this is not a series of happenings anymore, but a distinct era. When I first got on 4chan way back in like 08 or whatever and saw the rhetoric on /pol/ all the violent talk was so abstract and distant, more symbolic than real. I never knew the world I'd be responsible for as a man would be quite so chaotic, and even as I'd become more reactionary, I'd always kept a sense of coolness and rationality in mind; that things would not be so extreme as people online portrayed, that each instance or period of tumult was somehow a self contained microcosm of meaning within a timeline of occurrences, and that, for whatever reason, our country wasn't about to turn into The Troubles or the Spanish Civil war. Something about Charlie Kirk of all people being unceremoniously put down at a university campus brings everything into context for me in a way I cant quite describe. One way or another, this shit is going to get worse. It's consistently gotten worse for my entire adult life. Just try to stay well and be safe out there.

My best friend joked about how sad I must be Kirk is dead while using the 'Some Gun Deaths are worth it' meme. We always had disagreements, but fuck...
This is so immensely retarded to me for a number of reasons

AFAIK no guns were allowed in that area, even if it was a gun free zone it would mean nothing

It was a single shot, so literally any gun would suffice, including bog standard hunting rifles. No amount of common sense gun control would stop this

The quote is a gross oversimplification, he was probably saying that more people are saved through defensive use of firearms than die because of lax gun laws, plus other weapons could be used.

The weapon used here wasn't a firearm, it was leftist dehumanizing rhetoric and they are all collectively responsible

I still think Luigi might have gotten away with it if so many people weren't creaming their pants over him
He absolutely would have been much harder to catch had he not been a retard and showed his face to flirt with that chick.
He still likely would have been caught at some point, but it’d have been so much harder without a picture.

Some what related, I also suspect we’ll probably at least get a sketch of the shooter some time tomorrow. I’d be very suspicious if nobody saw them walk into that building, and I’d bet good money they probably had cased the place out before, even if it was just earlier that day.

Charlie was right - empathy is some new age bullshit.
Look at the people cackling at the thought of his two children losing their father, just because father is talking to people.
Is this what empathy is? Jesus fucking christ I didn't know Israel-Palestine or Russia-Ukraine was just a war on who is more empathetic.

Empathy can only work in a high trust society it seems, and boy; we are on the course of a civil war.

Took a few hours and read some stuff. Finally figured out what this situation reminds me of; the eve of the Spanish Civil War. On the last day before the Spanish Civil War, the leader of the right-wing CEDA coalition, Jose Maria Gil-Robles, spoke to their parliament saying "The day will come when the violence you have unleashed will be turned against you."

He cited multiple calls for "extermination" of the right in Spanish newspapers.

Anyone calling for or laughing at political violence should pray they do not fall victim to his prophecy.

Yes. Because they are divided. Which is why I said to get his house in order, not say the entire thing was rotten.

We need to get ours in order too, but its a bit hard to do so when theres a merry band of Goldsteins setting these fires.
I think we should just mizrahi Jews instead. From my experience they're way more anti degeneracy, appreciating religion etc...

God what the fuck is it some people in this thread? No one has time for this shit and you are wasting your time.

AI summary in one sentence in case you were curious: The author realizes that the current era, marked by events like BLM, the pandemic, and the assassination of Charlie Kirk, reflects a chaotic, defining historical period akin to the 1960s and 1970s, with escalating violence and dysfunction surpassing their earlier expectations of contained turmoil.
