Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

Granted, I didn't keep up with this dude, I know who he was but it maybe wasn't so shocking for that reason. I saw a remarkable amount of blood burst out (that's how I knew he was fucked). Could have been a lot worse, really, if he'd gotten hit in the head. I remember reading, in Crossfire, of Jackie Kennedy picking up bits of JFK's brains splattered across the car.

What I do find fucked up with it is that it's such a casual scene. Not like Trump deserved it either, at Butler, but there's something about a man being on a stage, versus being reclined in a seat. It would have been exactly morally the same either way, but it makes it look even more like the totally unhinged murder that it was.
