Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on Wednesday.

Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

Multiple reports currently say Charlie Kirk made it to the hospital and is currently stable but the extent of his injuries and likelihood of recovery isn't currently known. He is in critical condition.

I’m glad this site gets to go through another round of deciding whether political violence is justified based on peoples casual “reading” of heavily biased headlines and inflammatory stories. I’m sure in the end everyone will agree with themselves and only themselves. As far as I can tell, political violence is a time honored American tradition and something that will only continue as mentally ill men walk around with propaganda machines filled with violent rhetoric and flesh-rendered-anew in front of their faces day in and day out. People will cheer for the demise of those they hate and weep for the loss of loved ones while the dead receive it all same.

I wonder if anyone (like coworkers mentioned In this thread) cheering on this violence actually watched the close up video of this assassination.

I don’t think any normie could watch a man get shot in the neck and cheer for it.

If you cheer on political violence, you should be forced to watch the grisly reality of it without the luxury of looking away.
 
I think whether you liked Charlie Kirk or hated him, it's extremely childish to say someone deserves to get murdered because you don't agree with words they are saying. If you disagree and you think words are worth murdering over, I invite you to evaluate what brought you to that conclusion in your life and whether you think you yourself have been radicalized.
 
I wasn’t crazy when TPUSA started having meetings at my daughter’s HS, as I thought it wasn’t right to have politicians and podcasters speak to kids about abortion, etc. But instead, it turned out to be a good opportunity for the students to ask questions and debate with speakers. I can’t find fault with that.
Today my daughter saw what happens when violence is used to silence people you disagree with. It shouldn’t be like this, but it’s our reality.
