Throat injuries are insanely complicated because there is just so much going on there that can lead to your immediate and swift death. Airway, major vascular connections to the brain, the spine, etc. Its not like an injury to an extremity that can have a tourniquet applied. Hell, gut shots are more survivable then throat hits. When I went through combat first aid, the extent of what we were told too do was figure out where the injury was, and elevate the patient so the heart has to work harder to get blood out of the wound. After that, try and stop the bleeding and pray nothing important was hit, because if it was there is fuck all you can do. Even quick clot would be useless because it could get into a damaged artery and fully cut the brain off. In which case the Brain dies anyway. So they did not recommend quick clot for neck injuries.
