lol at the argies still seething for the Falklands.
That's always something that's funny about the argies. Most of the friends I have there don't really care either way, as they tell it to me, they don't care because:
a) they never inhabited them
b) they would probably mismanage any natural resources or whatever it is until its like the rest of the country
c) the war was basically a militaristic ploy to be used as a distraction and propaganda.

You know what else I find incredibly funny, generally who I saw being all "patriotic" and "LAS MALVINAS SON ARGENTINAS" were mostly kukas and negros, the same kind of retards that would say even if the Cristina is guilty she should not go to jail or face concequences. I've also met people that still believe the Falklands should belong to argentina, and even if they are kukas, they have other priorities at the for front, usually the right kind of priorities, related to enviormental disasters and the selling of argentinian resources to foreign powers, even if they are selective about which foreign powers.

I lost the thread there a bit, but it still funny how the milico propaganda worked the greatest in people that swear up and down the were the worst thing to happen.

Can someone explain the corruption scandal surrounding the president sister?
I only saw that article about her sister. I guess lot of anti-Milei peolple got lot of wet dreams.

BUENOS AIRES (Reuters) -A federal civil court judge in Argentina on Monday barred media outlets from publishing audio recordings that were made inside the presidential palace, presumably of the sister of President Javier Milei, as the government weathers a storm of corruption allegations heading into elections.

The president's spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, posted on social media a court order that prohibits distribution of the audios recorded inside the Casa Rosada presidential palace via media outlets or social media platforms.

The government had filed a complaint in federal court against an "operation of illegal intelligence with the aim of destabilizing the country in the middle of an election campaign," Adorni said.
The recordings included private conversations of officials, including the president's sister, Karina Milei, who is also chief of staff, Adorni said.

The federal judge's order comes as Milei's government faces allegations of corruption after a separate series of audio recordings were leaked to local news outlets in August.

The recordings barred by the federal judge on Monday were already published on a streaming platform, according to Argentine newspaper La Nacion. In them, Karina Milei can allegedly be heard addressing her staff about labor issues.

"We have to be united," she was heard saying, according to the paper.

Yeah, "Imagine my shock" as Paul Joseph Watson might said but OTOH we could wonder if labor unions are against libertarianism?
Mmmh, I'll chime in as the resident subject matter expert on libertarianism, but I'm not the biggest expert on the situation of labor unions in Argentina beyond the high level stuff. So if un argentino knows better and wants to correct misinformation I might accidentally spread, I welcome it

The current situation is that, by law, only one union per sector can receive personería gremial (official recognition), that means that the state grants monopoly privilege to one union to negotiate collective agreements binding on all workers in the sector, whether these workers joined or not. Like Germany with Tarifverträge I guess. Definitely anti-libertarian because it's coerced representation. Even people who are not members of unions are often forced to pay cuota solidaria (union dues) when the union of their sector signs an agreement, and that creates a cartelization of labor in which individuals can't freely negotiate their own terms without being taxed by the union machine. Even disruptive strikes are legally protected and pickets regularly involve blocking roads, factories, and transport systems, and that is a blatant infringement on the property rights of uninvolved parties. And even though there are rules regarding "minimal service", transport, health, and education strikes ("essential services") still happen, and that's an indicator of weak enforcement.
The CGT (general confederation of labor) and CTA (Argentine workers' central union) mobilize mass protests and general strikes to pressure policy and wield enormous influence over the government, blatant political rent-seeking.

tl;dr no voluntary association, no property-based contracts, routine coercion, parasitic gangs, systematically diminishing both worker and employer liberty. Backed by the state, financed through compulsion, armed with legal immunities, actively blocking reforms that would allow free workers to make contracts.
I recommend exerting retaliation against unionists on sight.

that is crazy, but I guess if you’re a socialist country that’s a pretty smart way to effectively control industry

It looks like the LLA gained votes from the previous election. I wouldn't doom just yet.
In raw terms they lost them, since the PRO has basically been integrated fully into LLA. Buenos Aires is one of the few provinces where LLA needed to put up the good fight.

even if they are selective about which foreign powers.
I bet they would be fine with selling their asses to the chicom.

Apparently she's the one that fucked up with the paid endorsement for the crypto crap from earlier and now for getting kickbacks on government contracts which seems to be what cost them the election.

What I didn't know is that unlike Milei she was a nobody, from what I heard before basically ruining his brother's government she was a dental office receptionist and a baker.

This is too much nepotism even for a LATAM country.
Milei just lost in the Buenos Aires elections. Needless to say I am ashamed, may god help us all.
So what's the plan now?

So he scraps the policy preventing relatives from having certain government positions, and then his sister and his aides load the place with positions and then get kickbacks for it. Why, of course he knew nothing about it and is COMPLETELY shocked and didn't notice his family or selected aides living it up in style while the rest of Argentina ate shit.

Yeah, he is going to go way of the dinosaur. And to everyone that thought he was a virtuous man, his actions earlier on spoke volumes as to what he truly was and like a good dictator in-waiting, latched onto a sore spot, and had you all looking the other way.

He's a criminal. He always was. His family are criminals and so are his aides he put into positions to suck money from the country. This follows his own personal scam of the LIBRA crypto-currency coin so he thought this time of having his relatives and aides suck the money rather than him directly.

The party is over.

But enough about the Kirchners. What about Milei?

Why the fuck would I care as long as the country runs well? Suddenly everyone cares about corruption?

Why can't latin america have decent politicians? It's in their DNA or something.
yes

Why the fuck would I care as long as the country runs well? Suddenly everyone cares about corruption?
the country is not running well, and he came to power because he promised not to be like the rest (aka not corrupt). Plus corruption sucks no matter who does it

It ISN'T running well. Which is why he pulled a pathetic 34% of the vote from the main electorate. Wages are rising less than the even newer lower inflation, and utilities and costs continue to rise incredibly fast well beyond the inflation figure. It is the IMF bailout that stabilized the finances of the country. "Suddenly" care about corruption? His banner was to cast out the "corruption caste" and in reality, he is just breeding a new one.

That company his sister got the kickbacks for went from receiving "X" amount from the government to 20 fold increase. It is oozing corruption, the same corruption that fucked the country in he first place, only this time, he is making sure there will be nothing left for the little people.

As if the people who paid into the tax system heir whole life and are now getting their pensions fucked are the cause - it is, was and will be the incredible corruption from politicians in that country that bleed it dry. But the common man pays for it.

66% of the people in that vote told him to fuck off. Clearly, it is not going well.
