When I read "all of the stock markets is 7 tech companies surviving on stealing you data" I am left with a conundrum is this guy high? drunk? foreign? Honestly I don't know.

I don't really care about the market, it will go up eventually, it always does. My house is worth 300,000 more then I owe on it, it'll be paid off in the next 5 years. I have a career I enjoy most days that's comfortable. My wife refuses promotions because she enjoys what she does being hands on but she might go into teaching in a few years. I've thought about teaching part time at a local college in a few years just for extra cushion when I am tired of grinding away.

If you are in the US apply for a FAFSA, you can get paid to go to school here and at a community college you'll probably get some of that back. Do some ubereats, deliver pizzas, work retail. You sound young enough. Get a STEM degree in something real and you'll get employment at a decent rate.

Drunk doom posting on here isn't a future my guy. I don't know your situation but there's always a path to a better future. As for conscription I did my time, it paid for my college and showed me what a life working with my hands was like so I went to school. I don't regret my service. It's an option too. X-ray techs make 6 figures on the outside so just do 4 and get trained and get out. X-ray techs also don't get shot kicking in doors.

Maybe yours does, but not mine. I've never been a fit runner, so my "fight or flight" response is biased fairly heavily towards "fight" unless I have an overriding factor that compels fleeing to preserve someone valuable to me (i.e. I'm with a woman or child I care about, etc.).

Besides, I like that fucking seat on the train and some stupid nog isn't going to chase me off it with a chimp out.

Wouldn't that encourage you to fight to protect them or at least give them time to escape to safety? Unless flight is now an option because instead of out running a criminal you just need to out run a woman or child...
