Dude has family and a kid so it's not that surprising.
He is also the one who covered a Pekora diss track on his main channel made by a holo anti, only a few days after Anycolor and Cover issued a joint statement against defamation against their talents. In the description he made it sound that Pekora approved the song but had to take it down and apologize.

Perhaps it's a contract thing. How are they paid? If she can't stream for several weeks/months due to IRL stuff then they don't have to pay her?

I really don't know.
I get the feeling its just a group of friends working together and pooling resources towards causes more than anything else.
Finding artists and merchandise makers they can rely on.
They maybe split merch prices for packages.

From the Airi video it sounds like Tomoe felt she was being more a burden by being there and doing nothing. Or at least that's her take on it.
