Looking it up from the con, they got their old venue rented out from under them on the weekend they wanted - which is not at all uncommon.

That's interesting to me since they have a weird hotel history. They were at various Holiday Inns in Memphis - and the word to the wise was that car breakins were common so be careful. Then they moved to this odd hotel outside the city that was the former Holiday Inn training center. Now this new place which if you look it up has a lot of locals saying 'DO NOT STAY THERE'. Should be good.

To be fair, this is from a weird, small section of furries. Indoctrination really isn't a big thing.
 
Interesting update about Furvana, which is happening this coming weekend. As I mentioned a couple of pages back, their main hotel was shut down (through no fault of the convention) because it lacked working water and gas, and had multiple health code violations.

According to Furvana’s official Telegram, the hotel has now reopened on a temporary permit. However, they won’t know for sure if it will stay open until the inspection, which is scheduled for just one day before attendees begin arriving. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. Will the hotel still be in a state of disrepair? Or will they have somehow managed to fix everything in just under a month? Only one way to find out, I guess.

UPDATE ON THE SHILO INN:

The Shilo Inn has been re-opened under a temporary permit, and they expect to continue to remain open through the convention. Their official inspection is not until Wednesday, September 3rd, which means we will not know for sure until after inspection is complete, but management is reasonably confident that this inspection will pass and they will continue to remain open. THIS IS NOT A 100% GURANTEE, AND CONFIRMATION WILL NOT BE DEFINITIVE UNTIL INSPECTION IS PASSED.

If you still have a room at the Shilo and would like to continue: no action is necessary, your prior reservation is still valid.

If you still have a room at the Shilo and would like to cancel: please do this before your check-in date. The Shilo has agreed to waive any normal cancellation fees in light of this incident.

If you have already cancelled your room via email: we suggest you follow up by phone to confirm if your cancellation was processed.

If you have already cancelled your room at the Shilo and would like to return OR you would like to create a new booking at the Shilo: due to prior cancellations they do expect to have availability.

The Shilo Inn front desk may be reached at 360-289-4600.
