I assumed that was merely the final straw. Didn't Phelan also mention he was getting grief over the visual effects of To Boldly Flee as well?
He did, actually. Plus he was feeling disillusioned with the direction the site was going, such as how it was shifting from a tightly-knit group to a more looser and disconnected business.

Really, it was a lot of things for Phelous, but at least a couple of them can be traced back to Mike in some way.

IIRC, Doug sent Welshy to spy on Phelan in order to make sure he wasn't "half-assing" the effects. Welshy straight up told Phelan what Doug told him, and that was the beginning of the end.

Figured as much.

And I'll be disappointed if Jim doesn't bring this up when talking about Mike and his horrible leadership.

Just watched the vid, Jim mentions consistency as a reason why he was fairly nice about Doug, so Spoony and NChick are shoo-ins. This also makes me think Film Brain could be in for a skewering seeing as he barely does BMB anymore, preferring to do his shitty Mark Kermode (who's a cunt anyway) ripoff, Projector. Even if Buck does keep his life fairly under wraps.

Linkara is a must though. Nasty cockslut is just too funny.

So, how long do you guys think will Channel Awesome last? I was sure maybe last year would be the last straw, but it still lives on, despite all the drama.

The 2010s really have not been kind to Channel awesome. Between Demo Reel-Demotalgia Critic and Doug's other ambitious projects, Jewwario's suicide, so many members leaving, and all the personal drama leaked (Linky's porn stash, Phelan, Spoony), I'm rather surprised at this point how they haven't imploded already.

The Indiegogo scam bought them some time that's for sure. I have no idea how much that studio cost in Chicago. I can only guess anywhere from $250,000-500,000 considering that it seems to be fairly small but in a commercial area. Most of the fans of the "talent" just go to the personal website or YT page instead of going to CA.

So I want to say at least a year or two is all they have left if things keep going they way they are.

Thinking about it, it could be less if more BtS fuckups happen, like if they lose the studio, or Brad, Todd or Lewis decide to leave for whatever reason.

Lewis will stay to the bitter end, but the other two...Keep an eye out. Esp. Todd, if he gives up with the Lindsay nonsense and finally leaves.

I think Brad has the best chance of leaving. He really doesn't need anyone over there but I think he may -surprisingly- have a friendship with the Walkers.
I mean they were in Jesus Bro, but Brad's also got his own posse, and his own website. I don't exactly see the CA partnership lasting much longer.

Lewis, If he does leave, I'd hope it'd be because "I'm too big for the Walkers!" before falling flat on his fedora-wearing ass.

I disagree to some extent. If Brad were to leave, he'd certainly have the best chance, out of everyone, of keeping his fanbase and profits intact, but I don't see him outright leaving on his own. This is definitely just conjecture, but the impression I have is that Brad's just apathetic/opportunistic enough to still see CA as free advertisement for his work, even though he doesn't prioritize the partnership at all.

Alternately, if he were to leave, he seems likely to gradually phase out his contributions to CA without ever really speaking out about it, until eventually a year or two down the line some fan asks him what's up and he's just like "I left lol didn't you figure that out" in that bluntly smug way he gets sometimes.

Glad someone posted it. And he was pretty easy on Doug, what with how right he is about him. I don't expect him to be so on anyone else after this, either.
I guarantee that the ones about Lindsey, Spoony, and Linkara will be far less forgiving; especially considering he's actually on good terms wih Linkara's most famous ex.

I've just noticed a small thing in Strider's vids.

What's with the banana? It's always somewhere in the background.

As for his Irish cartoons vid (just watched it) Zig and Zag were originally puppets on Irish kids TV before getting mass attention on the British Morning TV variety show, The Big Breakfast. It's a cultural thing.

And The Auld Ones? It's another cultural thing, Old Lady comedy is pretty big in Ireland, you just need to watch the Night Of The Nearly Dead episode of Father Ted (or even Mrs Doyle herself) and the massive success of Mrs Brown's Boys.
