Carnival Cruise Lines has taken a beating in terms of public reputation over the last year due to incidents of bad behavior from passengers, and now another brawl on one of its ships has captured the attention of many on the web. The incident in question reportedly took place on the Sunshine in the early hours of Monday morning (August 18).

The video, taken by fellow passenger Mike Terra, shows a group of younger cruise passengers wildly trading blows in the Lido Marketplace, billed as featuring an “amazing variety of casual dining spots”, as other passengers are yelling for them to stop. There are one or two moments where someone’s shoe or a cellphone is seen being hurled out of the group. One woman is clearly heard throughout, screaming, “Where the f-ck is security?!!!” One security member can be seen trying to break up the melee, as another attempts to jump in but backs off, radioing for more backup as he walks away.

From the video, it’s unclear how the brawl started, but at the end of the video, Terra turns the camera around to say, “Over chicken tenders is crazy.”

When contacted by other outlets, Terra took pains not to categorize the chicken tenders as the flashpoint for the brawl. “We weren’t close enough to know why [the fight] really started, we just knew they were in line for food,” he said to the New York Post. The Sunshine had previously stopped in the Bahamas and was making its way back to its home port of Miami.

The brawl is the latest in a series of unruly incidents on Carnival ships. This summer alone, there were three separate fights that took place, one of them outside the terminal doors involving over a dozen people, which took place outside of the Long Beach Cruise Port in California earlier this month. The other two fights in June also took place at buffet restaurants aboard two different vessels.

Carnival began the summer, ensuring that passengers were familiar with its guidelines concerning curfews, noise, smoking, and illegal drugs with a “Have Fun, Be Safe” campaign. “All guests must acknowledge and commit to our code of conduct during the check-in process, and any violation may result in a fine of $500, possible stateroom confinement, and removal from the ship,” the guidelines state for offenders.

I did guess black but I gotta say some pimple faced thirty year old convention goer was a close second. Because of the tendies.

If it weren't Carnival, I'd be guessing a different race. Chineses are terrifying at a buffet. Which is weird, because every Chinese Buffet begs you "Don't Take More Than You Can Eat", and "Don't Waste Food." I always used to think it's because they thought white people were wasteful with food, but it was actually projection, all along. Anyway, some people should just be forcibly deboarded into the ocean

Hrmm...this seems oddly familiar:

I expected the brawlers to be fatter. But I guess that's too much exercise and the fattest stayed eating instead.
Footage like this is one reason the smartphone era has been a blessing in disguise.
There's nothing more "race realist" than footage black people record of each other. Hand niggers a camera, and stand back.

Make sharks follow boats again.
Just keep them away from navy vessels named the Indianapolis. We don't need a repeat of that grisly mess.

More seriously it seems like Carnival is going to need some bigger brigs if they want their captains to fulfill their duty as the master of the ship and impose order in international waters.

Few people want to actually board a carnival cruise line but I think many, myself included would pay for access to the security cameras.

Here's my idea, get the oldest boat in the fleet, wire up the cameras, advertise that Carnival is holding a worldwide trip visiting ports across the world and food stamps will be accepted + financing. Lower the security staff, and sell access to the cameras online.

When did Carnival become the Section 8 of the seas? I remember watching videos about the infamous poop cruise in 2013 and there still seemed to be plenty of white people then. Or maybe that was caused the white flight from Carnival?

Its not ALL of Carnival that is bad. One of the big problems with Carnival is a lack of quality control for the brand. Other cruise lines sell off older ships but Carnival keeps them and uses them for short & cheap cruises. Those short & cheap cruises on run-down ships is where Carnival gets its bad reputation.

It was a problem (not necessarily so ghetto black a problem) all the way back to the 1990s. They used to be called "the floating walmart" because of the cheap booze cruises. Their problems go in cycles where it gets really bad, then they crack down, then it slowly gets bad again. In particular, anything where there is really lax rule enforcement and low prices is going to draw in the worst sort of black people who are what they are.

Longer cruises on newer ships with Carnival are not bad at all. But if you go on cheap short cruises on old ships, its going to be a horror show. The general rule is to always know the age of the ship your booking a cruise on and that low priced cruises are almost always going to attract people you may not want to be around.

20 years ago, Carnival should have fixed this problem by creating special alternative branding or a different name for their cheap cruises on old ships. Or doing something to distance the main company from these type of ghetto cruises.
